Halloween Cruise on Valor

Hey,

Just wondering what to expect on our Halloween cruise? We are traveling with my granddaughters ages 6 years & 1 years. We were thinking about dressing up as a family. Do we bring bags of candy to hand out or do they hand out candy? Any information concerning this cruise on Valor sailing Oct. 28th, would be helpful.

Thanks, Linda

We always go on a Halloween cruise, most time on Breeze. We dress up in costumes, etc. People put candy outside of their staterooms in jack o lanterns, halloween stuff like that. Want a collection of candy, go to all decks. I need a candy snack I go to one that has twix in their candy bowl. They have costume contests, for adults and depending the number of kids on board one for them also. It is FUN. We decorate our doors too, we love halloween!!!

Just wanted to add that we have observed a parade of the children from the “camp”. You might get more responses from those with children on the Shipmate APP.

We did a Halloween cruise on VISTA last year...didn't notice any freebie candy being given out, but did notice some of the most outrageous, rediculous and hilarious costumes being worn by adults, they couldn't ALL have been drunk out of their minds........it was a hoot.....waaaay better than anything we've ever seen ashore...not that we participate of course hehehehehehehehehehhe

AP covered the events so I just wanted to chime in about one adult activity. IF you drink alcohol, you might want to try a Green Goblin from the Atrium bar. I found them quite tasty.

Hey,

Thanks for your reply, this helps.

Halloween cruises are tons of fun. There are costume contests for both children and adults. Also there are several activities; such as a pumpkin carving contest. We have NOT seen candy handed out and it probably won’t be allowed (liability issues). Most of these things are done on every sailing in October but it’s more intense on Halloween. We often sail in October for this reason. Both passengers and several crew dress up. I recommend taking costumes, you won’t be the only ones!
