In September the Suica card (public transportation) from Yokohama to Tokyo and around Tokyo is introducing a NEW tourist card which should be a more flexible system. It should allow a wider use instead of buying 2 different system cards.
Will update later with further information and trial it in January.

That's great news. Interested in learning more for our upcoming trip to Tokyo next year during Olympics. We are looking to buy one of the IC cards for our pre cruise stay. Looking forward to an update on this.
