Grandeur of the Seas Cancellation Refund

Anyone on the Grandeur of the Seas August 31st sailing to Bermuda that was cancelled due to mechanical issues? Have you received your credit card refund? Not the future cruise credit, the refund of your purchase price, excursions, etc? The letter we received on the ship said we would the refund by 6:00 PM on September 6th and today is Sept. 10th. Just wondering if I need to be more patient or start calling daily. Thanks.

Being "patient" with a big corporation is an invitation to more anxiety....not theirs, yours...why not call and find out? want to bet others on that cruise have already called?...you may get a satisfying answer...or not...good luck.

Hope it works out for you.

Please keep us posted on what happens. We may not be in the situation this time but we may like to have the information for possible future events. Hope you get your refund today or very soon!

Update - We had a letter from RC before we even got off the ship (cruise cancelled due to mechanical issue) stating that we would have our refund by September 6th. It took 2+ weeks from the time quoted to the time we received a refund of our cruise fare. The refund seemed to come in dribbles. First refund was for excursions, then for a food item we had delivered, then the tax amount, then part of beverage package, next day the rest of the beverage package refunded, then 3 phone calls and another week later the actual amount of the cruise fare. But, we got a full refund for everything we had PREPAID which luckily was everything. We also got a 100% future cruise credit which is great but we have not booked a cruise yet. Also, got a full refund for parking costs.

Now how best to use the future cruise credit...

Good for you...anytime one of those corporate screwings occurs, I call and call and call, names, supervisors, etc.....its not like the person you're talking to is refunding their own money...usually they just don't care. Take your time with the decision, these things don't happen that often, and need to be......carefully considered....pleasant problem eh?

Glad to see it worked out. Bummer on having to miss a cruise but ... Enjoy that free future cruise.
