FCC GOT IT ALL FROM NCL

Took a little while, but the last piece appeared in our accounts..the ins premium $$. So now we've got it all back... Can't decide whether to simply use it to pay for our next one in NOV, or book another. According to their FAQs, if theres any left over, its brought forward. (or obviously, if it isn't enough, you owe the diff.) The price for our next booked one went down..and it was adjusted accordingly...hmm..higher math with a little crystal ball gazing mixed in....

HMMM...got really curious about this. went back and looked at the NCL "instructions"...they have a form too. its for folks who want cash, instead of a FCC. they advise its a manual process and takes longer. I guess as opposed to hoping they programmed their computers properly. and as an aside, they warn you that if you want cash, you're "relinquishing" some added perks...In any event, my instincts, when trying to track something down, is to start at the source, which in his case is HA.. but either way, FIRST you gotta get someone on the phone, who knows what they're looking at. sometimes that's easier said than done.

We received emails and online forms to complete from both HA and Costco once the sailing was officially canceled but have not received any follow-up information from either about the FCC details. I will try to contact both again this week. Thanks!

Usually if you book through a TA all dealings must be through the TA. But as Yankee says you should have an account for on line check in which may show a status or where things are at. I would think if you want info you should be reaching out to the Costco TA to start with and see what they say

Yeh, I was kind of impatient too. Did you get an email from them? Isn't there some kind of advisory on their website about all this with the usual FAQ section?

Thanks. We usually cruise Princess and book direct, but Costco was offering a ton of perks and a lower price on that cruise, so we decided to try them. I have logged into my HA account and don't see anything, so maybe I just need to be patient. Anxious to re-book for 2021!

We don't use a TA, nor HA...but...just an educated guess...you both have accounts with HA. Whatever they call them. you log into your account and THATS where it ought to be. Just as an example, my wife had an account with NCL..same client #, and since I always cruised with her, never occurred to me I'd even need one. She had her #, and I had mine, but I had no separate account...and never gave it a thought...well....she got her fare etc refunded, and I ASSUMED mine would turn up in what I thought was "our" account. nossirr. called em and the woman patiently explained that EVERY person needs their own account...folks cruise with other people, get divorced, etc etc . So she helped me create one. (gave me a bs login that I changed later)...wellll guess what was there???? Someone who cruises with HA can chime in with the proper name for whatever it is HA uses. The only question I can't answer is what happens when theres a TA in the mix. According to what I remember glancing thru with NCL, I believe YOU"LL get the FCC. Actual $$ paid, no OBC's etc...The TA's $$ is "protected"....but I'm curious how it'll work too. As far as calling, a situation like this requires patience. a lot of it. We took turns waiting on the phone. You get HA's cust svc hours (because that's where the $$ is coming FROM) and start dialing first thing when they open..And THEN hopefully, you'll get someone who knows what they're doing...this sad situation has been in a state of flux since the beginning. and now the goal posts have been moved out of the stadium..good luck.

Question - we booked a May Alaska cruise on Holland America Alaska through Costco Travel that was cancelled after we had paid in full. We replied to both HA and Costco that we would like the FCC deal instead of a refund, but now we can't figure out where to see the FCC posted; will this information come from HA or from Costco? How long will it take? Customer service is so backed up on both sites, so I thought I would ask here.

We too are debating .. leaning towards booking one in Nov but ... who knows when this will clear.

Glad to hear that! Happy cruise shopping!Love
