I cruise with my wife and anyone else that wants to tag along. The more the merrier.
I always cruise with my husband and many times with my twin sister & her husband. Often we book with a group if we like the deal. This spring we all all taking a river cruise together & in the fall, we join a group and another sister to go on a paddle boat cruise. It is fun to travel with others yet still do our own thing.
@RoadWarrior7 - be sure to download the Ship Mate app to meet others before your Norwegian Getaway cruise.
You should be able to sign in with your same Cruiseline.com Username/password!
Getaway is a great ship - enjoy it.
I am taking my first solo cruise aboard the Norwegian Getaway this summer and will be staying in a Studio cabin on deck 11. Having cruised with my family (parents, sisters, nieces, nephew), I found that I would have a lot more fun on this solo cruise. I have always been an introvert but am willing to meet new people while on board.
Just did my first Cruise alone. It helped that it was on a ship that had no single supplement so it had a bunch of people traveling alone (most of them in 50's and 60) I also knew some of the crew from having been on the ship before. I found it more relaxing, Went to the shows I wanted to see, lay out by the pool when I wanted to. Plenty of people to talk to on a ship.
I will do it again for a short cruise but do not think I'd take a 14 nigh cruise alone. Overall I think I would rather travel with friends but will cruise alone again if no friends can go.
If you cruise Alone some ships have "no single supplement" I have taken the Carnival Inspiration a few times because of the special they had of no single supplement. They also have some dining tables that are all solo travelers so you are not stuck with somebody's family at your table. On some travel web sites they have special areas for Cruising single. I typically cruise with friends, have done one with the family and next week will do my first solo cruise.
I have cruised with girl friends and other friends, but cruising solo I like the best. You can do what you want when you want, but you have to pay more for the cabin
