DECK PLANS FOR NCL PRIMA STILL NOT AVAILABLE, MDR "CHANGES"

On the NCL website itself that is. They're selling cabins, we and booked one based on plans actually available EVERYWHERE ELSE, for a 1/24 cruise....After we picked a few, we booked it over the phone...Our PCR said she had no idea why they hadn't added it yet...competent woman.. was extremely grateful we had already picked a few to chose from depending on availability...Could have done the whole thing ourselves but didn't feel comfortable doing it based on info from somewhere else...When we bought some more cruise next coupons on our last one on NCL recently, they were doing it out of a "book"...a real book, with real paper pages. The "pictures" they put up on their website (and others) and during the onboard presentation aren't pictures at all, they're computer graphics, with important features missing...like obstructed views to allow for their rides etc. So if you're think of cruising on her, do your homework.

BTW, CCL's onboard HUB is way more useful and easier to navigate than NCLs. And from what I understand, NCL'S MDR will have ONE menu for the entire cruise, since NCLs poohbahs have decided most people would only eat there 2-3 times out of any given 7 day cruise...The rest of the time passengers eat "elsewhere"....hmmmmm.....seems to dovetail with my theory about "paying more, getting less" and smiling while they do it...

Part of it seems to be a difficulty in getting Visas. We had a trio on the Spirit, but there were only two girls there. We asked why they called themselves a trio. Apparently, the third one hadn't been able to get her visa. I'm sure many others found work at home and decided not to return the long hours and little pay. That said, the cruise lines seem to be increasing the passenger load without equal growth in the crew.

Yeh, 4 more...and unless I miss my guess, theres a good chance the steel hasn't been ordered much less cut yet for the remaining four, so they can do this and the poohbahs can look like heroes. But I bet they're crying in their martinis about not doing this to PRIMA, and VIVA is probably too far along in construction. So all the bafflegab about "more space" per passenger during their presentations and advertising is a bunch of bs.

And just who is going to CREW these things? They have monstrous staffing problems. Many venues onboard are closing because of it. I used to have a great deal of sympathy for folks who worked for rediculous wages (and tips), spent months away from home, sometimes never saw the sun, yada yada. Apparently many of them won't do it anymore no matter what.

And I've read that those future ships are going to be "up-sized" in guest capacity by 10% to over 3,500.

Oh joy, more people to meet and intermingle with on crowded elevators and lines at the buffet & guest services.

And they have 3 or 4 more of these on order for delivery over the next few years

Thanks for sharing tis important information.
