Carnival Forum

Okay, it’s been awhile since I trolled cruise forums, but didn’t Carnival have their own forum? I seem to remember it getting real ugly and personal, so I never got involved in any discussions.
I also remember someone often referencing a rice cooker, but never understood why.

So, what happened? I can’t find their forum.

Just checked in for my cruise in April on the Freedom! 90 days and counting!

Funville was all the rage, but there wasn’t enough activity to keep it viable. Plus some people didn’t play nice. As for the rice cooker; there was a point when people wanted to bring several unusual things, their own hammock, a coal grill and/or a rice cooker. I was never sure if it just being funny or a serious question. So most of us made it into a joke. As we all know it is difficult to express tone with the written word.

Someone asked if they could bring a rice cooker on board and was skewered (rightfully so in my opinion) by the Funville crowd. It provided months of entertainment. Aunt Pinkie can probably provide more details when she returns.

I eyeballed cruisecritic for quite awhile before I decided it just wasn't for me, for that very reason. A lot more pleasant in here, discussing whats supposed to be a fun, luxury experience to begin with. yes there have been moments, but it doesn't last.

Occasionally if i'm checking out something on GOOGLE, it'll point me at a post or thread in Cruisecritic. I don't mind using it as a reference (once I decide if the poster(s) are reporting accurate, helpful info or more bs), but never felt the need to join.

I think it was called Carnival Funville. I like it and miss it. Sure there was bantering but I think there is more of that on cruise critic. In fact, some folks really go at it.

It is really bad on facebook on the various Carnival groups, namely offensive clothing and the pepsi switch. I got out of some of the groups, dont care to read some of the crybabie stuff.

Carnival Forum has been kaput for at least 2 years now. It was axed due to cutbacks and probably some of the not so nice bantering. Forum users have moved on to Facebook groups, CruiseCritic, or this site.
