Carnival announced today that starting August 4, 2022, fully vaccinated guests will not be required to take a pre-cruise covid test for cruises of 5 days or less. Cruises of 6 or more days will still require a test regardless of vaccination status. They say that the new protocols will be rolled out in phases, with this first phase taking effect on Aug 4, so I wouldn't be surprised to see the test requirement for 6+ day cruises eliminated in the near future.

Carnival Dropping Pre-Cruise Testing for 2, 3, 4 and 5 Day Cruises Effective 8/4/22

I have friends leaving tomorrow so they miss out but I also have friends leaving the 8th who will be able to take advantage of the this. Both on Carnival.
It will also depend on the destination as some destinations still require pre boarding tests such as Canada. All the cruise lines are dropping pre cruise testing unless local requirements state otherwise.
Royal is doing the same, which means those of us that are cruising 6 nights or longer are still having to test, even though we're vaccinated
