Has anybody ever done one of the Carnival Concert Series ? How was it ? I'm looking into the May 2016 Journey concert.

I was surprised how Arnel Pineda could sound so good and be so dead on singing the classic Journey songs. The 2015 concert was worth going to, thats why I'm thinking of going to the 2016 concert.

Hakim is a fabulous drummer... quite a jazz heavy pedigree (which is where Journey started off before it turned more pop rock) so it makes sense. With that said, if it's not Steve Perry singing, I'd have a very hard time listening. His voice is so distinctive that anyone else's would not have the same impact (for me anyway).

I have not. I hope that you enjoy it.
The drummer they used in the 2015 tour was good. I saw them at the Hollywood Bowl last summer, was a good show.
