We have a Mexico Hawaii cruise booked for 2024. Lots of sea days few ports. Are there any Hawaii specific cruise ships? Thanks!

Exactly!

GIL155...some folks posts are NEVER "too long"...you're on that short list....

GIL155:

Included in the 3 days in Oahu are the Polynesian Cultural Center, all day at Pearl Harbor ending with a city tour, and the 3rd day a pineapple plantation tour. Plus the hotel you stay at is the Hyatt on Waikiki Beach so lots to see and do before ever boarding the ship. Our kids are super excited and counting down the days! In 2017 we did the road to Hana which was an all day trip. Hilo was a tour to see the volcano and waterfalls. We also did a helicopter ride in Kona. And the Wiamea Canyon is a must on Kauai along with a luau.

tobykingacct - sounds like you did your first Hawaiian trip perfect, with a second to follow. Your 10-day extended cruise is something I hope to do someday. I used to vacation a lot on the various islands of Hawaii. So many things may be different from my times there in the 80's and 90s.

Oahu, Honolulu - three days is good as there was so much to do, and not get bored. Waikiki beach is nearly perfect, and the Polynesian Culture Center with the nighttime show is still a favorite memory. Back in the day, the Royal Hawaiian had a Sunday champagne brunch with a seafood buffet including shrimp and (small) lobster tails, and all kinds of American and Japanese delights. My memory was $25/person and we enjoyed it MANY times. A beachfront, fantastic, dining memory.

Maui - never did the big city populous side of west Maui, but stayed in Hana. 'The road to Hana' is still an amazing 90-minute twisting (with many one-way bridges) driving memory, and visiting Charles Lindbergh's grave. Stayed at the Hana Hotel.

Kona - terrific coffee, and driving around the island looking at all the lava flows that periodically sprouted a little green vegetation. Driving thru areas were the lava off the roadway was still emitting steam.

Kauai - back then, the road did not circle the island, One could drive about 3/4 around the island, then turn around and go back home. Favorite memory was eating at the restaurant which served the same function in the TV series Fantasy Island. Front edge seats for watching the torch lighting ceremony at dusk.

Please enjoy your family cruise. Hawaii can hopefully bring you many happy memories.

P.S. I know this is too long for a cruise chat site. If planning a cruise here, like always, research ahead of time.

Sounds great! Looking forward to your review!

My husband and I along with 3 other couples sailed with Norwegian Pride of America in 2017. Fantastic trip! We booked it again to take our kids on in 2021 and 2022 and we all know what happened. Covid. We are currently rebooked with family for January 2024. We did the cruise tour where we spent 3 days in Oahu, boarded the ship and spent 1 1/2 days in Maui, 1 day in Hilo, 1 day in Kona and 1 1/2 days in Kauai then back to Honolulu. Great way to see the islands and not have to worry about air flights to see the other islands. It’s a 7 day cruise but 10 days if you do the cruise tour 3 days ahead of boarding the ship. Highly recommend! It’s a long flight but beats all the sea days you have on other cruises!

Enjoy your adventure!

I'm booked on Celebrity Solstice from Vancouver to Hawaii next year.

Lynn and myself, we did cruise on Legend of Seas many years ago. It was a relocation cruise to Vancouver BC and then on to Alaska.

We both had a great time. You will love it hun

Yes there is only 1 ship that does exclusively Hawaii. NCL Pride of America. It is based in Hawaii and does only Hawaii. It is the only US registered and crewed ship and the only one that does Hawaii without the week of sea days.
