Yes it maybe Free as one of the Perks. Attention all of the Wifi on Ships is NOT SAFE.

I was Hacked on my last Cruise Princess Regal.

The Hacker stole my AOL email address and attached his GMail address to it.

Then he downloaded all my contacts and sent them an Email with my Letterhead.

He wrote I was very sick with COVID-19 and couldn't speak.

And I needed gift cards as quickly as possible.

The Guest Relations Desk was extremely helpful by allowing me to call AOL. They were able to stop the Gmail Hacker and get my email address back.

I was able to call my Bank President stopped all money coming out of all my accounts.

I called my Attorney; my CPA and my Horse Ranch Staff.

Three hours later it was completely resolved.

I missed the 7:30 PM Show but cought the 9:30 PM Show Comedian Carlos Lopez. Very funny guy.

Nowadays this is what's happening.

For all of my Future Cruises I will avoid being on Wifi @ Sea as much as possible.

I recommend this to all.

What do you think?

Peace and Love

Use a vpn

Very accurate.

Sorry to hear that you had such an unfortunate experience but it is not the fault of the on board wifi.

Most cyber security issues occur due to user error (aka. PEBKAC [problem exists between keyboard and chair]). Cyber security is the responsibility of the end user and many do not pay close enough attention to details and proper protocols and this is how stuff happens. Cyber space is a cold and hard place. Always make sure your devices are properly protected. Do not click random links and make sure you know what and why you are clicking something. Hackers cannot gain access to your device without some sort of help from you the owner.

Cheers

Thanks for sharing your experience. Glad you were able to get it taken care of so quickly.
