about that RC world cruise

I was surprised they didn’t sell out. $60k pp really isn’t bad considering what you get. The food alone is worth the cost. Add in it’s your hotel and you have a bargain. I wonder if they discount laundry services ( or raise them ) as you can really only pack for 2 weeks tops.
How do you budget on board expenses though ?

Which could bring up ANOTHER table of six discussion. Three months into the cruise, someone at the table asks you if you had an enjoyable day - and you just smile - no words - AND four others smile too !! Wink

It could be cheaper than a nursing home. I would try it just to see if I really could live on a cruise ship, but my DH would not make it past a month.Big Smile

As usual, reply missing...this time I think it was fat fingers....anyways, I wouldn't want to spend 9 months in a box with ANYBODY, balcony or no....theres all kinds of issues involved in that length of time...not to mention the cost of the "incidentals" involving 187 ports....you want to transfer your life to a ship at sea? Its called joining the Navy...they take care of EVERYTHING!! and no complaints, (well you can but nobody listens anyway).. but sometimes alot of buyers remorse heheheheh actually I think my first reply was more entertaining....colorful even...

That could make for interesting dinner conversation at a table for six.

Man to woman - didn't I see you in that same dress after Istanbul ? AND Paris ???

Woman to man - you should talk! You're in the same pair of socks 3 days in a row !!!!

I believe the article I read stated $90k. I just assumed that was per person, and since they usually cite or publish numbers as a starting point, I assumed it was for an inside cabin.

I read that article a few months back though, and unfortunately there is a rapidly growing likelihood that I'm confusing and/or conflating facts.

However,

If it is actually $60k pp, that's $120k for a couple. $120,000 ÷ 274 days = $438 per day. For that kind of money It had better be at least a balcony.

What kind of cabin does 90k get you???

Did they discount it? I thought I had read that the least expensive fare for the full 274 days was around $90k. I'm assuming that doesn't cover drink packages, or gratuities.

Anyway, I don't think our cat would survive if we were away that long, no matter how much food & water we leave out for him. He gains more weight during our cruise vacations that I do.
