Fantastic Cruise
Excellent cruise with friends who were first-timers. The Captain avoided Hurricane Michael completely. We had success with both private and Royal Caribbean excursions.

Excellent cruise with friends who were first-timers. The Captain avoided Hurricane Michael completely. We had success with both private and Royal Caribbean excursions.
Cruise tips
This port is commercialized but is also well set up , except for the distance from the ship to the port. It has the best system I've seen for finding and waiting for your Royal Caribbean Excursion. We went to Kohunlich and Dzibanche Mayan ruins. These are little known and it was great to be some of the few people there. Climbing the pyramids was one reason we selected this tour. If you go out to the ruins take a ship excursion because it does take all day and they guarantee they won't leave without you. We did not get back to the port until almost 4:30 (sailing time) and had the long 5-10 minute walk down the pier to the ship.
The one thing I don't like about the International Pier at Cozumel is that it is a maze! It's easy to get lost and disoriented. It's very commercial and the workers are a little too high pressured for my liking. We took a Royal Caribbean ATV (Polaris) and Snorkel excursion. It was the best excursion I've ever taken. We had so much fun on the off-road portion that we wanted more!
Coxen Hole, Roatan, Bay Islands, Honduras
Port is small and therefore not as commercialized or high pressured as other ports. The shops are a little more expensive. We took a private excursion with Bodden Tours to Sol y Mar Beach and had a fantastic time. Our driver was ready and waiting at the time we said we would be done.
Liberty of the Seas
Wander around a bit to get familiar with prime locations, such as what's on the Promenade (shops, cafe, pizza, service desk), theater, dining rooms, buffet and pool deck and then relax and enjoy.
