Royal Caribbean Celebrates Naming of Utopia of the Seas with Singer Meghan Trainor

It was an epic celebration to kick off many more celebrations to come, as Royal Caribbean’s sixth Oasis Class ship Utopia of the Seas was officially christened in a ceremony at Port Canaveral. On hand for the naming festivities were ship Godmother GRAMMY-wining singer Megan Trainor, Royal Caribbean executives, Utopia of the Seas crew members, and the legendary Rev Run and DJ Ruckus at the turntables to keep the party going. 

Trainor as Godmother, joined the longstanding maritime tradition of bestowing safekeeping onto the ship, its crew, and the millions who will vacation on Utopia of the Seas in the years to come. Along with christening the ship, the singer hosted an exclusive performance in Utopia of the Seas’ open-air AquaTheater where she sang her hit song ‘All About That Bass’. 

“Becoming Utopia’s godmother and being here for this incredible celebration with Royal Caribbean is a dream come true,” said Meghan Trainor, godmother of Utopia of the Seas. “From performing on a breathtaking stage while we’re in the middle of the ocean to having my fans here to sing and dance with me and experiencing it all with my family – Utopia really is the ultimate short getaway. I’m so honored to be part of the memories so many will make here.”

Utopia of the Seas has been dubbed the ‘world’s biggest weekend’, offering year-round 3- and 4-night cruises from Port Canaveral to Nassau and Perfect Day at CocoCay, Bahamas. Friends and families are invited to vacation on Utopia to celebrate special occasions or to simply just have a quick getaway and enjoy the ship’s robust lineup of onboard offerings. 

The ship features 40 ways to eat, drink, and party the days away, along with a special lineup of entertainment just for Utopia. Among the highlights is the Royal Railway – Utopia Station, a first-of-its-kind immersive train car dining experience. Other features include two casinos, multiple pools, and entertainment across air, ice, water, and stage.

Onshore, the vibes continue with all Utopia of the Seas cruises making a stop at Royal Caribbean’s private island, Perfect Day at CocoCay. The top-rated destination features 14 waterslides, the largest freshwater pool in the Caribbean and The Bahamas, the new adults-only oasis Hideaway Beach.
