Princess Cruises is headed back to the ‘Last Frontier’ later this month! Beginning April 29, 2023, the cruise line will kick off its Alaska season, offering 14 different itineraries and 25 land-sea vacations.

For 2023, Princess will deploy 7 total ships to Alaska - Discovery Princess (the line’s newest ship) along with Royal Princess, Ruby Princess, Majestic Princess, Grand Princess, Crown Princess, and Sapphire Princess

New for 2023 from Princess, will be an expanded Wild for Alaska Seafood menu. Introduced last year, Princess’s Wild for Alaska Seafood menu is an industry-first, location-based seafood initiative that features a menu rotation of fresh Alaska seafood dishes, and destination-inspired cocktails (including flights of Alaska spirits sourced from local distilleries). Alaskan seafood dishes will be served every night in all main dining rooms, and include multiple varieties of Alaska salmon, including King, Sockeye, and Coho, as well as wild Alaska cod (caught by hook and line only), halibut, rockfish, Dungeness crabs, wild spot prawns, and razor clams.

“Welcoming guests at the start of the Alaska season is always one of the most highly anticipated events of the year because we know they are going to have one of the most memorable travel experiences,” said John Padgett, Princess Cruises president. “Each season, we’re passionate about enhancing our programs to offer one of the most destination-focused programs available and for 2023, we’ve crafted some amazing Wild for Alaska Seafood dishes that will leave guests dreaming of coming back.”

Also new this year from Princess is an expanded new beverage menu on all ships, serving local spirits and newly-crafted cocktails. New for cruisetour guests will be an updated Garden-to-Table menu for guests staying at the Fairbanks Princess Riverside Lodge.

Princess Cruises 2023 Alaska season offerings include seven to 11-day cruises, departing from San Francisco, Seattle, Vancouver, and Anchorage. The line also offers cruisetours that take guests 500 miles into the heart of Alaska, with a seamless transfer from the ship, to train to Denali, all in one day. On cruisetours, guests get the opportunity to visit Denali National Park and stay at one of Princess’ five signature Wilderness Lodges.

Following are some of the upcoming highlights from Princess this year in Alaska:

  • Every cruise features at least one glacier-viewing experience at Glacier Bay National Park, College Fjord, Hubbard Glacier, Endicott Arm, Dawes Glacier, or Tracy Arm Fjord.
  • Cruises feature visits to Juneau, Ketchikan, and Skagway with a “More Ashore” late-night call in Juneau on all Voyage of the Glaciers and seven-day Inside Passage voyages.
  • Exclusive to Princess, the ‘Cook My Catch’ excursion offers guests the chance to reel in a fish during a fishing excursion and have chefs cook it for their dinner that night.
  • On Cruisetours, only Princess Cruises offers stays at a custom-built, exclusive wilderness lodge on the doorsteps of legendary national parks. This year (back by popular demand) the 17-night Princess Connoisseur Cruisetour features 10 nights on land that includes two nights at each of the five Princess Wilderness Lodges and visits five national parks. Cruisetour guests staying at the Fairbanks Princess Riverside Lodge can enjoy the ‘Garden-to-Table’ experience, where they will visit the on-property garden and then enjoy a chefs’ menu created using the ingredients grown on-site.
