Princess Cruises Announces Upcoming Panama Canal and Canada & New England Seasons

Princess Cruises shared new itineraries for its upcoming 2024-2025 Panama Canal and 2024 Canada & New England seasons. 

The cruise line will sail three ships (Emerald Princess, Enchanted Princess, and Island Princess) in Canada/New England from July - October 2024, with 27 total voyages from Boston, New York, Québec, and Fort Lauderdale. 11 itineraries will be offered, visiting 25 destinations. Princess will also deploy three ships (Emerald Princess, Island Princess, and Coral Princess) to sail Panama Canal voyages in 2024-2025, with 26 departures, visiting 23 destinations in 12 countries. 

Following is a look at the highlights of the newly announced Princess Cruises sailings in each region.  

Canada & New England 2024 Season

Princess Cruises will offer an expanded Canada & New England cruise and cruisetour program for the season, focusing on fall leaf viewing, colonial history, stunning lighthouses, and quaint seaside villages. Select cruises also feature stops in three ports in Greenland. New for the season are Colonial Heritage itineraries. These sailings homeport in New York City, with visits to Charleston, Boston, Halifax, and for the first time ever historic Yorktown, Virginia.

Seven-Day Cruises

  • Canada & New England on Emerald Princess – Roundtrip from Boston, visiting Halifax, Sydney, Charlottetown, and Portland. Cruises (Departs July 14, 21, 28; August 4, 2024).
  • Canada & New England on Enchanted Princess - Roundtrip from New York, visiting Newport, Boston, Bar Harbor, Halifax and Saint John (Departs August 24, 31;  September 7, 14, 21, 28; October 5, 12, 19, 26, 2024). 

10-17-Day Cruises

  • Colonial Heritage on Island Princess – Roundtrip from New York visiting Charleston, Boston, Halifax, Newport, and Yorktown (Depart June 4; June 14; June 25, 2024). 
  • Classic Canada & New England on Emerald Princess – Roundtrip from Boston to Québec (with more ashore overnight) with stops in Portland or Rockland, Saint John, Halifax, Sydney, Charlottetown, and Saguenay (Departs August 28; September 17; October 7, 2024). 
  • Classic Canada & New England on Emerald Princess - Sails from Québec (with more ashore overnight) to Boston, visiting Saguenay, Charlottetown, Sydney, Halifax, Saint John, and Portland (Departs September 7, 27, 2024). 
  • Classic Canada & New England on Emerald Princess – Sails from Québec (with more ashore overnight) to Boston, visiting Saguenay, Charlottetown, Sydney, Halifax, Saint John, and Portland (Departs July 3, 2024). 
  • Canada & Colonial America on Emerald Princess – Sails from Ft. Lauderdale to Québec (with more ashore overnight) visiting Charleston, Yorktown, New York City, Newport, Boston, Sydney, and Saguenay (Departs June 19, 2024). 
  • Canada & Colonial America on Emerald Princess – Sails from Québec (with more ashore overnight) to Ft. Lauderdale, visiting Halifax, Portland, Boston, New York City, Yorktown, and Charleston (Departs October 17, 2024). 
  • Greenland & Canada on Emerald Princess – Sails roundtrip from Boston visiting three ports in Greenland (Nuuk, Qaqortoq, and Nanortalik), as well as Sydney, Corner Brook, St. Anthony, and St. John’s (Departs August 11, 2024). 
  • Guests can also choose from two in-depth cruisetours, which combine a 2024 cruise with multiple days on land to tour. These include the Historic America Cruisetour (seven nights visiting Washington D.C., Colonial Williamsburg, Philadelphia, and Gettysburg) and the Maple Explorer Cruisetour (travels to Niagara Falls, Ottawa, and Montréal).

Panama Canal 2024-2025 Season

Princess Cruises has brought guests to the Panama Canal since 1967. Its 2024-2025 season includes 24 sailings with transits through the new locks of the canal, and 13 transits through the historic locks. The cruise line will sail to seven UNESCO World Heritage Sites including Spanish Fortifications at Portobelo-San Lorenzo (from Colón), the archaeological site and historic district of Panama, and the Port Fortress in Cartagena.

“Three ships will transit the historic Panama Canal during our upcoming 2024-2025 season offering full transit sailings, ocean-to-ocean or roundtrip options from Ft. Lauderdale,” said Padgett. “We’re excited to bring Coral Princess back to the region, returning the ship to her roots where she was christened in the Panama Canal in 2003, by the then president of Panama, Mireya Moscoso.”

Itineraries

  • 12-Day Panama Canal with Costa Rica and Caribbean Voyages - These 12-day sailings are new for Princess. They include a partial transit of the Panama Canal, with stops in the Southern Caribbean. This includes a late night in Aruba, as well as a stop in Bonaire or Curacao). All sailings go through the new locks of the Panama Canal. 
  • 16-Day Ocean-to-Ocean Voyages - These sailings offer a full transit experience, with a stop in Fuerte Amador, providing an in-depth experience of the lock system and access to Panama City. Itineraries sail between Los Angeles or San Francisco to Ft. Lauderdale, or vice versa of Ft. Lauderdale to Los Angeles or San Francisco.
