Oceania Cruises Takes Delivery of Newest Ship
Oceania Cruises has officially taken delivery of its newest ship, Vista. The vessel is the first of the cruise line’s Allura class of ships and features several firsts for Oceania in dining, accommodations, and guest offerings. Vista was delivered to Oceania at the Fincantieri shipyard in Genoa, Italy.
"Today we usher in a new era for Oceania Cruises with the delivery of Vista," said Frank A. Del Rio, President of Oceania Cruises. "We could not have built such an exceptional ship without the close partnership enjoyed with Fincantieri. We thank each and every person who had a hand in bringing her to life. From the smallest of design details to the largest per capita galley at sea, Vista is a marvel that will be enjoyed by guests for decades to come."

The debut of Vista is highly anticipated by Oceania Cruises fans. The 67,000-ton, 791-foot-long ship has the capacity to accommodate 1,200 guests. It boasts some of the most spacious stateroom offerings on the high seas and 11 culinary venues. Three of these dining venues are new concepts for Oceania – Ember, Aquamar Kitchen, and The Bakery at Baristas.
Also new to Vista is an elevated mixology program with innovative specialty cocktail menus at onboard lounges. The ship will also offer new Broadway-caliber productions, featuring recognizable songs and contemporary dance numbers led by ‘Dancing with the Stars’ choreographer Britt Stewart.
As Oceania takes delivery of Vista, the line has also announced the ship’s leadership team:
- Captain - Luca Manzi
- Staff Captain - Edgardo Cossu
- General Manager - Dominique Nicolle
- Executive Chef - Frederic Camonin
- Food & Beverage Director - Susanna Cahyadi
- Cruise Director - Paul Baya
Vista will be christened on May 8, in Valletta, Malta, by godmother Emmy Award-winning food personality Giada De Laurentiis. The ceremony will be live-streamed (at 9 PM CEST) on www.VistaCelebration.com.
This summer, Vista will sail in the Mediterranean. At this time, only a few select staterooms are available on Vista sailings for its inaugural summer season. Come fall, Vista will sail to Canada and New England, then head south for a series of winter itineraries in the Caribbean, Mexico, and Central America.
