Luxury line Oceania Cruises has announced that it will undergo stem-to-stern refurbishments for two of its ships - Marina and Riviera. These rebuilds will re-transform each of the ship’s public spaces and staterooms/suites.

The re-fitted vessels will make their debut in December 2022, Riviera, and in November 2023, Marina. Every surface of every suite and stateroom will get a new upgrade, and all public spaces will receive a new color palette with upgraded furnishings and lighting fixtures.

All 1,210 cabins on the ships will get a complete revamp. The line says suites and staterooms will “be passionately reimagined to provide a radiant and even more decadent degree of lavish residential comfort while leaving no surface untouched, no design detail wanting.” Oceania will incorporate custom-crafted furnishings, as well as new exotic stone and wood finishings to each cabin. Upgrade highlights will include:

  • Concierge-level Veranda Staterooms and Veranda Staterooms will be the largest standard staterooms, at 291 square feet.
  • Suites and staterooms will embrace a complete transformation that combines functionality with luxury and a refreshing new look. Each private room will receive new furnishings and fashionable lighting. Modern upgrades have also been implemented, such as outlets and USB ports always within the guest's reach.
  • Restyled bathrooms will be more spacious than ever before, complete with oversized showers.

Oceania has upgraded all public spaces to be more luxurious and radiant than ever, including dining and lounge venues. Guests can expect to see familiar favorites like the Grand Bar, Grand Terrace Cafe, Grand Dining Room, Waves Grill, and Terrace Cafe, all with a new look. Highlights of the announced public space upgrades include:

  • The Grand Dining Room will be even more ‘grand’ than ever with plush new carpets and leather-covered armchairs.
  • A new al fresco Trattoria serving wood-fired pizzas, grilled Italian specialties, salads, and indulgent desserts.
  • Polo Grill will receive new plush carpeting, wall coverings, and draperies to create the “finest steakhouse experience at sea”.
  • Horizons observation lounge will be reimagined with a lighter and brighter style.

The upgraded Riviera will make its debut on December 7, 2022, for a 16-day Mediterranean, Atlantic, and Caribbean cruise from Rome to Miami. Riviera will then sail 7- to 14-day Caribbean cruises from Miami, and return to Europe in late March 2023 for the spring/summer season. Following, Riviera will sail its first-ever season of Far East cruises in late 2023 into early 2024.

Marina will debut on November 13, 2023, on a 7-day cruise from Barcelona to Lisbon. The vessel will then sail to Miami to kick off its annual South America season on December 3, 2023.

Last week Oceania Cruises was named the 2022 Cruiseline.com Member Choice Award Winner for Best Luxury/River Cruise Line.
