The next Royal Caribbean International ship will officially be named, drum roll, please…Star of the Seas! Today, the cruise line announced its next Icon Class ship, which will make its debut in Summer 2025.

Star of the Seas will follow Icon of the Seas (which will make its debut in early 2024) offering the same first-of-its-kind combination vacation experiences. Guests can enjoy all the bold and unique offerings of the Icon Class, including the beach retreat, resort escape areas, and theme parks.

“The idea of combining the best of every type of vacation into one ultimate adventure has created more excitement than ever anticipated, and Star of the Seas will be the next bold answer to the record-breaking consumer demand we’ve seen for nearly a year and counting with Icon of the Seas,” said Michael Bayley, President and CEO of Royal Caribbean International.

Star of the Seas is currently under construction in Turku, Finland. The ship will be the cruise line’s third vessel powered by liquefied natural gas (LNG) and is being built with a lineup of industry-leading environmental programs, such as waste heat recovery systems and shore power connection. All of this will advance parent company Royal Caribbean Group’s journey to introducing a net-zero cruise ship by 2035.

Sister ship Icon of the Seas made records last year as its first-look debut led to the cruise line’s single largest booking day and highest volume booking week in the brand’s history. To capture this demand, the cruise line released 2025-2026 vacations on Icon three months ahead of schedule, and are now announcing Star’s name and debut season dates.

Further details and features, as well as booking information, will be available by Royal Caribbean for Star of the Seas at a later date.
