The eagerly anticipated new ship from Royal Caribbean, Icon of the Seas, is still under construction in Turku, Finland. The shipyard gave a behind-the-scenes tour to a select group of travel partners to show how things are progressing. Cruiseline.com member CruisinDrew was part of this special event and shared photos from his ship tour. The ship is currently on schedule to welcome guests starting in January 2024. Following is a glimpse of what the ship looks like so far.

Cabins

Icon of the Seas offers 28 different stateroom types, including the new infinite balcony and three-story townhouse. Additionally, there are more family-friendly options than ever before, allowing large families to stay together and enjoy these innovative cabins. The ship also debuts the infinite balcony that sister company Celebrity Cruises innovated on the Edge Class of ships. While we didn’t get a peak inside these various cabin categories, we could see balcony cabins from several areas of the ship, including the new infinity balcony.

Central Park

Featured on Royal Caribbean ships since the inaugural of Voyager of the Seas in 1999, Central Park is a central walkway through the ship lined with restaurants and shops. The area is a true park with real plants, trees, and other foliage peppered with sculptures and walking paths, creating a unique experience onboard a ship.
