New Adults-Only Space Coming to Perfect Day at CocoCay

Royal Caribbean International shared a first look at Hideaway Beach, the first-ever adults-only space coming to its private island in the Bahamas, Perfect Day at CocoCay. This new area is slated to open in January 2024 in conjunction with the launch of Icon of the Seas.

Hideaway Beach is an extra-charge all-day experience for guests ages 18+. The dedicated space will offer a private beach, two pools, 20 cabanas, and seven open-air bars serving frozen cocktails and light bites. The area is located in a tucked-away area on the northwest beach of Perfect Day at CocoCay. 

“Hideaway Beach is a completely new vibe and experience that vacationers are looking for on Perfect Day at CocoCay. Everything from its hidden-like location to the exclusive beach and pools to the private cabanas is designed for adults who want a day just for them,” said Michael Bayley, president and CEO of Royal Caribbean International. “There are experiences for everyone on a Royal Caribbean vacation, and that’s at the heart of our private island and its popularity. Adults will enjoy fun in the sun at Hideaway Beach’s beachside or poolside areas. Featured spaces include: 

Hideaway Beach – This beach encompasses over an acre of Bahamas white sand beaches and turquoise waters. Vacationers will enjoy the beachfront views from resort-style loungers and umbrellas along the shore or on the in-water hammocks and swings. This area will also offer sand-front beach games. 

Hideaway Pool – The main pool space of Hideaway Beach will feature a live DJ, spinning tunes all day. Guests can enjoy the music from the swim-up bar at the center of the action, complete with in-water seating. Along the heated infinity pool are loungers perfect for relaxing and enjoying the views. 

Hideaway Cabanas – Steps from the action, guests can opt for any of the 10 chic poolside cabanas. Cabanas include a mini-fridge, floating beach mats, charging outlets, and a dedicated attendant. 

The Hideout – This nook at one end of Hideaway Beach is an exclusive elevated experience for guests looking to chill out from the action. The Hideout offers 10 Hideout Cabanas, a heated infinity plunge pool, cabana attendant service, in-water loungers, an outdoor shower, and resort-style seating.

All the sun and relaxation are certain to have you working up an appetite during your time at Hideaway Beach. Featured food and beverage options coming to the new space include:

On the Rocks – This al fresco bar set alongside the rocky shore serves up refreshing drinks (hello margaritas and mai tais), with a vibrant scene complete with live music, TVs for sporting events, and games. 

Slice of Paradise – A new rustic pizza eatery serving fresh-from-the-oven favorites along with island twists like a Bahamian guava barbecue chicken dish. 

Snack Shack – This staple eatery on Perfect Day at CocoCay, has a new locale at Hideaway Beach serving complimentary bites. Enjoy chicken sandwiches, burgers, mozzarella sticks, salads, and more. 

Hideaway Bar – As mentioned above, this swim-up bar at Hideaway Pool is in the center of the action. The two-level bar offers poolside and in-pool drink service. 

Beach Bars – Hideaway Beach will also offer two new full-service beach bars located on both sides of the area. 

Hideaway Beach is the latest addition to Perfect Day at CocoCay. Following the island’s $250 million transformation in 2019. Most recently in 2020, Royal Caribbean introduced an elevated beach retreat at Coco Beach Club and the reimagined South Beach.   

In 2024, a combination of 22 total Royal Caribbean ships will sail to Perfect Day at CocoCay will sail from nine different cities including Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Port Canaveral, Cape Liberty, and Galveston. Starting next July, the cruise line’s newest ship Utopia of the Seas will offer three-night cruises that will visit the island.
