Royal Caribbean Announces Ship Details & Itineraries for Utopia of the Seas
Royal Caribbean has shared the first details on upcoming ship Utopia of the Seas. The Oasis Class vessel will make its official debut in July 2024.
Utopia of the Seas will sail 3- and 4-night cruises, the first ship of this class to offer short getaways. The vessel will homeport from Port Canaveral, with itineraries visiting Perfect Day at CocoCay (Royal Caribbean’s private island in the Bahamas), as well as Nassau.
Guests traveling on Utopia of the Seas will find a number of Royal Caribbean fan-favorite venues, as well as new offerings, like a new Caribbean tiki bar, a first-of-its-kind immersive dining experience, the longest dry slide at sea, and newly-designed resort-style pools. Travelers of all types and ages are certain to find something enjoyable on Utopia of the Seas, with numerous activity options, nightlife venues, dining, and more.
“Vacationers are looking to make every moment count by celebrating and recharging with their friends and family, and Utopia of the Seas makes all that possible in more ways than one,” said Michael Bayley, president and CEO, Royal Caribbean International. “With the variety of dining, bars, pools, entertainment and thrills that make Oasis Class ships revolutionary and the experiences to match on our private island, Perfect Day at CocoCay, we’ve combined the best of the best to create the world’s biggest weekend for everyone.”
Following are some of the newly-announced features coming to Utopia of the Seas.
Pools & Onboard Offerings
Utopia of the Seas will be home to five pools, each offering a different experience. At the center of the action are three main pools, each with a Lime & Coconut bar.
Adventurous travelers can check out the high-speed waterslides at The Perfect Storm, and young kids can enjoy fun-in-the-sun days at Splashaway Bay. Guests will enjoy casual bites at a new poolside food truck serving snacks and handheld favorites, or Mexican-inspired street food and drinks at El Loco Fresh and Cantina Fresca.
At the Solarium on Utopia of the Seas, adult guests can recharge in the pool and whirlpools, as well as enjoy a bar, daybeds, and the Solarium Bistro. The Suite Sun Deck, located in the Suite Neighborhood, is a pool area with daybeds, loungers, and bird’s-eye ocean views.
Thrill seekers can check out Utopia of the Sea’s Ultimate Abyss slide, the longest of any Royal Caribbean ship. The 259-foot slide features zoom booster rollers and transparent racing windows. Also onboard will be a 10-story-high zip line, a FlowRider surf simulator, mini golf at the AquaDunes, and the Utopia Playscape for kids.
Dining for All
The 20 onboard eateries coming to Utopia of the Seas are certain to please the palates of all guests.
One highlight will be a new (yet-to-be-named) immersive dining experience. This special eatery will pair a multiple-course meal with a one-of-a-kind dining show experience featuring a destination-based storyline of a locomotive journey. Returning Royal Caribbean favorite, Giovanni’s Italian Kitchen & Wine Bar will span two stories with a menu of authentic Italian dishes. The restaurant will extend to the outside terrace, called Gio’s Terrazza.
Japanese eatery Izumi in the Park will be located in the Central Park area, with a window serving up fresh sushi and Japanese-inspired sweets. Next door will be a reimagined Izumi restaurant, with double the teppanyaki tables and al fresco seating. Other Royal Caribbean staple eateries are set to include The Mason Jar Southern Restaurant & Bar, Windjammer, Hooked Seafood, Chops Grille, and the Trellis Bar.
Bars & Nightlife
There’s no shortage of fun for adult travelers on Utopia of the Seas, with more than 20 different bars and entertainment spots, two casinos, live music venues, and showstopping entertainment.
The Pesky Parrot will be a new Caribbean-themed bar on the Royal Promenade serving fruit-based cocktails, frozen drinks, and more. Live music is in no short supply on Utopia of the Seas with five venues - Spotlight Karaoke, Boleros, Music Hall, Bell & Barley, and the Schooner Bar. Additionally, the ship will offer two casinos, with over 370 slot machines and nearly 30 table games.
In the entertainment department, guests are in for a treat, with a number of original production shows taking center stage across air, ice, water, and theater. Utopia will be home to an AquaThearter for high-diving and acrobatic shows, ice skating productions at Studio B; and showstopping theater productions at the Royal Theater.
Numerous Staterooms
Vacationers can select from the 20 types of staterooms types on Utopia of the Seas, accommodating groups large and small. Options include rooms with views of the ocean or neighborhoods like the open-air Central Park or the Boardwalk. Travelers looking for something extra-special can stay in the Royal Loft Suite or Ultimate Family Suite, plus the new stateroom category, the Solarium Suites.
Summer 2024 Debut
Utopia of the Seas will also make waves at its July 2024 debut as the first Oasis Class ship from Royal Caribbean to be powered by liquefied natural gas (LNG). The 3- and 4-night getaways will pack tons of fun, with visits to Nassau and Perfect Day at CocoCay (soon to be home to upcoming adults-only Hideaway Beach). The ship will sail from Port Canaveral on Fridays and Mondays.
Bookings for Utopia of the Seas will open to Crown & Anchor Society loyalty members on Thursday, June 22, 2023, and to all guests starting on Friday, June 23, 2023. More details and features coming to the ship will be revealed by Royal Caribbean at a later date.
