Disney Cruise Line’s newest ship Disney Treasure has arrived at its home port of Port Canaveral today for the first time.

Disney Treasure is themed to adventure and inspired by Walt Disney’s love of exploration. The ship will immerse families in stories from beloved Disney, Marvel, Pixar, Star Wars, and Disney Parks adventures. Guests can look forward to adventuring to the imaginary town square of Santa Cecilia in the world’s first theatrical dining experience themed to the film “Coco”, or indulge in themed cocktails at venues inspired by the Haunted Mansion, Jungle Cruise, and “20,000 Leagues Under the Sea”. Other features include a sweet shop reminiscent of “Zootopia” and a Broadway-style production of “Disney The Tale of Moana”.

To celebrate the launch of its new ship, Disney Cruise Line is introducing Treasure Tomorrow, a new initiative that expands the company’s commitment to creating lasting positive impacts in its port communities in Florida and throughout the Caribbean.

In Disney Treasure’s home port of Brevard County, Disney Cruise Line is teaming up with the Brevard Schools Foundation to sponsor career exploration programs in the hope of inspiring local students to learn about new and exciting careers.

Disney Treasure will embark on its maiden voyage on December 21, 2024, sailing a 7-night Eastern Caribbean cruise from Port Canaveral. Following, the ship will offer an inaugural season of seven-night itineraries to the Eastern and Western Caribbean.

Godparents Named for Disney Treasure

Disney Cruise Line has bestowed the honorary role of "godparent" for Disney Treasure to be held by The Walt Disney Company cast, crew, Imagineers and employees around the world.

Fulfilling a longstanding maritime tradition, the time-honored role of a ship godparent symbolically bestows good fortune on the vessel and its travelers with a special blessing during the ship’s Christening ceremony. In 2022, Disney Cruise Line reimagined the tradition by naming all Make-A-Wish children (of past, present and future recipients) as godchildren of the Disney Wish (sister ship to Disney Treasure).

"The profound declaration is a heartfelt tribute to the more than 200,000 dreamers and doers who make every Disney entertainment, vacation and at-home experience possible. Disney Cruise Line is proud to celebrate the magic makers from across the globe who have created meaningful, lifelong Disney memories for generations of families," said Disney in an announcement on Disney Treasure's godparents naming.
