Disney Cruise Line has announced that its newest private destination Lighthouse Point in the Bahamas, is slated to open in the Summer of 2024. The ‘one-of-a-kind’ island destination is located on the island of Eleuthera in the Bahamas.

As previously announced, Lighthouse Point is being designed in close collaboration with local artists and advisors, which will combine the Bahamian culture with the quality and service of a Disney Cruise Line vacation.

“At Disney Cruise Line, we have a deep appreciation for the Bahamian community,” said Sharon Siskie, senior vice president and general manager of Disney Cruise Line. “We are connected in many ways, including our shared values of storytelling and hospitality. With the opening of Lighthouse Point, visitors from around the world will experience the magic of The Bahamas in a new way, one that truly celebrates its natural and cultural beauty.”

Today’s new announcement details new updates on the design and offerings being developed for guests at Lighthouse Point. One of the key elements of the new development is respect for the environment. At least 90 percent of the destination’s electricity needs will be met by an onsite solar array. In addition, the pier has been designed to avoid the need for dredging, and elevated walkways will be incorporated to help limit the impact on the landscape.

Guests arriving at Lighthouse Point will be greeted by distinctive architecture in bright, saturated hues. According to Disney, this bold style has been inspired by nature and created in partnership with local artists. The curvilinear-designed buildings will appear like Bahamian shells scattered along the shore.

Disney Cruise Line guests of all ages are certain to fill their day at Lighthouse Point. Newly-announced highlights are set to include:

Family Beach - This expansive beach on the east side of the island will be centrally located near market-style dining, recreation, and other amenities.
