Disney Cruise Line has announced that it will have four additional new cruise ships joining its fleet by 2031. This news was shared this past weekend by Josh D’Amaro, Chairman of Disney Experiences, at D23: The Ultimate Fan Event.

There are currently five ships in the Disney Cruise Line fleet with four others already in development - Disney Treasure, Disney Destiny, Disney Adventure, and a yet-to-be-named vessel for Japan that is a partnership between Disney and Oriental Land Co., Ltd. The four additional announced ships will bring the total size of the Disney Cruise Line fleet to 13.

“Disney Cruise Line is consistently the top-rated cruise line for families because it offers something for everyone. Expanding our fleet gives more people, in more parts of the world, the opportunity to experience a vacation at sea like only Disney can provide,” said D’Amaro.

The ship names, designs, and itineraries are all currently still in development by Disney Cruise Line.

“Disney Cruise Line is a shining example of the diversity and breadth of experiences that make up the Disney Experiences portfolio – bringing together our signature Disney service, storytelling and innovation,” Thomas Mazloum, President of New Experiences Portfolio and Disney Signature Experiences. “Our growing fleet will further strengthen Disney Cruise Line’s position as a leader in family cruising.”

This news of the fleet expansion builds on a series of announcements for Disney Cruise Line over the past few months.

In July, Disney announced that in partnership with Oriental Land Co, they will bring a year-round Disney cruise ship to Japan by early 2029. In June, Disney welcomed guests to Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point, its new private destination on the island of Eleuthera in  The Bahamas.

Earlier this month, the cruise line revealed new details about Disney Destiny, which is set to launch in 2025. The heroes and villains inspired ship will feature venues and entertainment inspired by Marvel Studios’ “Black Panther”, Disney’s “The Lion King”, and Pixar Animation Studios’ “The Incredibles”.

Cruiseline.com will share more details about Disney Cruise Line’s upcoming new ships as information becomes available.
