Disney Cruise Line Shares New Features of Disney Wish
Today, Disney Cruise Line announced new details of the adults-only spaces on its newest ship, Disney Wish. These areas will cater to adults ages 18+ cruising on the ship. In addition to a number of previously announced restaurant and lounge spaces, new venues introduced today for adults include features such as an outdoor spa retreat, unique salon and barbershop experiences, as well as a host of nightlife options.
“With the Disney Wish, we wanted to design an experience that allows our grown-up guests to relax, recharge and reconnect in unique ways that only Disney Cruise Line can create,” said Laura Cabo, portfolio creative executive, Walt Disney Imagineering. “Not only did we infuse more storytelling and enchantment into the adult-exclusive venues, but we added more variety and made them more accessible than ever before. This ship has truly been designed with adults’ vacation needs in mind, and I know our guests are going to return home feeling refreshed after their Disney Wish vacation.”
Here’s a look at the newly announced adult spaces that guests will find on the Disney Wish:
Outdoor Spaces at the Senses Spa
For the first time on a Disney ship, the Senses Spa will feature dedicated outdoor relaxation spaces. Guests can spend time and unwind in whirlpool spas, rest on plush loungers, or try their hand at a yoga class. The open-air concept is an extension to Disney Cruise Line’s Rainforest experience. On Disney Wish the Rainforest will introduce the fleet’s first ice lounge, as well as guest favorites like heated ergonomic loungers; sensory spa showers; and sauna, steam and dry chambers.
The Senses Spa will also feature private treatment rooms and lavish spa villas for couples. Adjacent to the spa, guests will find Senses Fitness featuring state-of-the-art exercise and wellness facilities.
Unique Salon and Barber Venues
Disney Wish will include the first-ever standalone venues for hairstyling and beauty services. Of course, Disney Cruise Line promises to put a spin on these areas, deriving inspiration from classic Walt Disney Animation Studios films.
The Untangled Salon will feature a space for hairstyling and pampering. Inspired by the classic Disney character Rapunzel, the salon area is designed with the coloring and lighting that is reminiscent of the film. Guests can enjoy haircuts and styling, manicures, pedicures, skin treatments, and teeth whitening at this space.
Hook’s Barbery will be a unique twist on a traditional European men’s salon, offering cuts, shaves, and nail and skin care. Inspired by Disney character Captain Hook, the area will feature dark woods, leather chairs, and gold mirrors. In addition to salon services, Hook’s Barbery will also feature a hidden bar. Guests can enjoy bourbons, ports, whiskey, and premium spirits - the “ultimate toast to a pirate’s life”.
Enchanting Nightlife
Like all Disney Cruise Line ships, Disney Wish will offer a collection of relaxed and refined bars and lounges reserved exclusively for adults. However, for the first time, these venues will be spread out among the ship’s core gathering places for a more free-flow experience that will allow adults more opportunities to enjoy “me time”.
The Keg & Compass is a pub that celebrates the sea, designed in the rustic architectural style of a late 1800s Norwegian sailor’s map room. Spanning the entire ceiling is a map that features tributes to ocean lore, Disney characters, as well as the design and construction of Disney Wish. This space is a relaxed venue to watch sports and enjoy beers - including three custom craft brews available only on Disney Wish.
Nightingale’s is a refined piano bar inspired by Cinderella’s lyrical rendition of “Sing Sweet Nightingale”. This space will offer fine wines, bubblies, and hand-crafted cocktails. Guests can find this exciting lounge stemming from the Grand Hall, allowing the music to spill out into the atrium.
The Bayou is an informal lounge themed to “The Princess and the Frog”, featuring a New Orleans-inspired decor. This centrally located bar will offer creative cocktails, beignets, and live entertainment.
Disney Wish will sail its maiden voyage July 14, 2022, first offering a season of three- and four-night cruises to Nassau, Bahamas, and Castaway Cay, from Port Canaveral.
