Disney Cruise Line has officially announced its return to cruising in the United States! The line will resume sailing the Disney Dream from Port Canaveral, Florida beginning on August 9, 2021. The ship will sail 3- and 4- night Bahamas itineraries visiting Nassau and Disney’s private island Castaway Cay.
This announcement comes on the heels of Disney Dream successfully completing a simulated voyage with Disney cast members, as a part of the CDC’s Conditional Sailing Order.
Disney will not require all passengers to have been vaccinated prior to cruising, however it “strongly encourages all eligible guests to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 before sailing. Guests who are fully vaccinated may choose to provide proof of vaccination in order to be exempt from pre-trip and Embarkation Day testing requirements (unless arriving from outside the United States) and travel insurance requirements.”
Guests who are not fully vaccinated on Disney Dream sailings must provide proof of a negative COVID-19 PCR test taken between 5 days - 24 hours prior to the sail date, as well as take a COVID-19 test at the terminal prior to boarding.
In order to safely resume cruising, Disney Cruise Line introduced a number of new protocols. These include enhanced onboard cleaning procedures, crew training, implementing innovative technologies, new measures to promote health and wellness, as well as emphasizing guest communications.
