Cruiseline.com Celebrates Ten Years

December 5, 2022, marks the tenth anniversary of Cruiseline.com! Over the past decade, we’ve created a well-rounded destination and community for all things cruising. 

To mark this milestone, we’re sharing a look back at how far we’ve come in the past decade and how we’re celebrating the big day.

In the Beginning…to Now!

We’ve come a long way from where we started. Since its inception, the primary mission of Cruiseline.com has been to provide a destination for travelers to search and read verified cruise reviews, meaning that the review is a legitimate first-hand account from a cruiser who traveled on the ship. We started (and still operate) this way through a partnership with major cruise lines and travel agencies.

In 2013, Cruiseline.com acquired the Ship Mate cruise app (now known as Shipmate). The app extended the website, adding more opportunities for the community to receive information on cruising. Today, Shipmate is the number one cruise app on the market, with more than 2.6 million downloads! The app offers cruise countdowns, roll calls, deck cams, port and ship info, a variety of community-featured tools to plan a cruise, and more. 

We reached our fifth anniversary in 2017 and celebrated some of our best accomplishments, including our reviews, community, and search features. At the time, we changed our look, enhanced our cruise reviews and search features, and expanded our advice articles. Oh, How We’ve Grown!

Over the past ten years, Cruiseline.com expanded to offer a range of cruise planning tools and fostered a flourishing community for cruisers.

At Cruiseline.com, you will find advice and news content, user-submitted photos, roll calls, and a robust forum for cruise enthusiasts. Cruiseline.com has also become a go-to travel planning resource with cruise-searching functions, including tools to find cruises via user-requested filters, such as destination, cruise line, cruise ship, ports, and sailing month. 

At a glance, the following are some of our proudest achievements in the past ten years:  

• Over 220,000 ship reviews and 306,000 port reviews
• 930,000+ member-submitted cruise photos 
• Produced over 1,000 cruise advice and news articles 
• Six years of Member Choice Awards rankings, naming the year’s best cruise lines and ships
• Produce 4+ cruise deals and advice emails per week 
• Helped thousands of users save significant amounts on cruise fares with deal offers and Price Alerts 

National Cruise Review Day

We are officially declaring December 5, 2022, as ‘National Cruise Review Day’ to celebrate our beginnings and continued dedication as a cruise review destination website. National Cruise Review Day will be a celebration of cruise reviews and to honor the site’s mission of sharing tools to make it easier for travelers to plan their next cruise vacation.
