Celebrity Cruises Shares Entertainment Lineup Coming to Celebrity Ascent

Celebrity Cruises unveiled the lineup of entertainment options coming to the new ship Celebrity Ascent. Guests sailing on Ascent can look forward to a spectacular selection of live productions, nightlife, gaming experiences, and more. 

“We embraced the opportunity with Celebrity Ascent to take our entertainment offering to an even higher level for our guests, handpicking the best creative minds to deliver a world-class program that solidifies Celebrity’s reputation for onboard entertainment that stuns,” said Lisa Lehr, Celebrity’s Vice President, Entertainment. “We are so excited to show guests how our new entertainment offering can level up their vacation in ways they’ve never experienced before. With elements our guests love plus some new surprises, Ascent offers something for everyone and adds to the memories they will have for a lifetime.”

Following is a look at the entertainment features coming to the new Edge Series vessel. 

First-of-Its-Kind Resort Deck Party 

Celebrity Ascent will offer a new nightlife event experience that is a first for any of its vessels. Called ‘Ascent After Dark: Shine the Night’ the Resort Deck will transform into a center stage area for live performances, a prism light show, and a DJ playing a high-energy playlist. Guests are invited to wear their metallic attire to enjoy this outdoor party under the stars.  

New Theater Shows

The Theatre on Celebrity Ascent will be home to three all-new production shows that feature state-of-the-art technology (think laser lights and a larger-than-life LED screen) paired with performances by world-class singers, dancers, and specialty artists. 

New Shows include the following:   

• Awaken - This contemporary show will take guests on “an eye-opening journey through a showcase of surreal dreams and awakening their senses to explore a world where anything is possible.”
• Residency - This concert production will celebrate timeless artists featuring authentic footage paying homage to Las Vegas and iconic restored signs from the Neon Museum. 
• Bridges - This show is a “a feel-good, uplifting celebration of human connection, set against the backdrop of some of the world's most iconic bridges from London to Venice, New York, San Francisco, and Sydney.” It will feature an automated bridge onstage as the centerpiece that transports the audiences to locales around the world. 

More Immersive Live Shows and Performances

Outside the main Theatre area, there are even more live performances to check out on Celebrity Ascent. 

At the new three-story Eden (Ascent’s ‘architectural masterpiece’ at the back of the ship) guests can enjoy any of the three new performances - Allure, Shimmerbox, and Dreams. 

In The Club area, Ascent will introduce a new immersive show, Smoke & Ivories, which tells the story of an old Hollywood club with a modern twist.

Interactive Entertainment Experiences 

Following are a sample of the new gaming and interactive activities coming to Celebrity Ascent: 

• Game On: Augmented Multiplayer Experience - An 80s-inspired retro experience featuring games projected on the floor of The Club. 
• Guilty Pleasures Party - A fun singalong party for all. 
• Sands of Time - A new tabletop escape-style game, where guests work in teams to unlock a mystery through puzzles and clues.
• Sketch Art Classes - A professional artist will teach beginners and advanced artists alike how to sketch. 

Live Music

Grab your dancing shoes, there’s a ton of live music to check out on Celebrity Ascent. 

Jazz at The Club (a returning Edge Series favorite) features world-class orchestra musicians performing the very best of jazz music. New live shows include Funkified, a concert-style journey of the evolution of Funk, and Discoteque, a high-energy show that brings the Disco Era to life. 

Return of Edge Series Favorites

Celebrity Ascent will also feature a number of the entertainment favorites found on other Celebrity Cruises’ Edge Series ships. These include:

• Nightlife highlights include 80s Flashback at The Club, Silent Disco, Tune to Table Live Band Karaoke, Ritmo Latin party, ABBA sing-along party, and Bingo. 
• Complimentary pickleball at sea on the ship’s open-air courts. 
• Pub Games Night, an event that transforms The Club into a fun pub setting complete with beverages and games. 
• Camp at Sea, Celebrity’s kids cruise program which offers 500+ activities for kids and teens to participate. 
• Chandelier Light Shows - Held in the Grand Plaza, these shows feature 13 different chandelier light shows choreographed to music. 

Celebrity Ascent is slated to make its debut next month sailing from Fort Lauderdale. The ship will sail an inaugural 2023-2024 winter Caribbean and summer 2024 European season.
