Carnival Cruise Line & Princess Cruises Announce 2025-2026 Australia Itineraries

Carnival Corporation brands Carnival Cruise Line and Princess Cruises have both announced their 2025-2026 Australia cruise programs. In the upcoming seasons, the cruise lines will offer numerous ways for guests to explore the Land Down Under. 

Following is a rundown of what each cruise line will offer in Australia for the 2025-2026 season, including which ships will be deployed to the region and what itineraries will be offered. 

Carnival Cruise Line

Carnival will deploy Carnival Splendor and Carnival Luminosa to Australia in 2025-2026 to offer cruises around the Australian coast, New Zealand, Fiji, and Papa New Guinea.

Carnival Splendor will offer three to 12-day cruises, with port visits to the Great Barrier Reef, Moreton Island, Tasmania, Fiji, the South Pacific islands, and New Zealand. The 3,012-guest ship features many Carnival guest favorite venues, including Guy’s Burger Joint, Pizzeria del Capitano, and the Alchemy Bar. 

Carnival Luminosa will sail from Brisbane for the season to popular destinations like Airlie Beach, the Great Barrier Reef, Fiji, Papua New Guinea, New Caledonia, and Vanuatu. Cruise durations span from three to 11 days. This 2,260-guest ship features a Fahrenheit 555 Steakhouse, RedFrog Rum Bar, Piano Bar 88, and Punchliner Comedy Club.

Princess Cruises 

Princess Cruises summer 2025-2026 Australian summer program will feature three ships deployed to the region - Discovery Princess, Crown Princess, and Grand Princess.

In total, the trio of ships will offer 75 itineraries and 120 departures, with cruises ranging from two to 37 days. Cruises will be offered from seven ports - Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide and Hobart in Australia, as well as Auckland in New Zealand   

This will be the first time Discovery Princess, the flagship vessel of Princess Cruises, will sail in Australia. The 3,660 guest ship will be the biggest Princess ship to ever sail in Australia, offering 22 itineraries during a four-month deployment. 11 departures will sail from Sydney. 

In addition, Princess will offer the longest-ever world cruise to sail roundtrip from Australia - a record-breaking 114-night voyage on Crown Princess. Offering roundtrip departures from Sydney, Brisbane, and Auckland, this 2026 voyage will visit 48 destinations in 31 countries across six continents. The voyage departs Sydney on May 10, 2026, and will visit a grand total of 48 destinations (with access to 50 UNESCO World Heritage Sites). 

The 2600-guest Grand Princess will be based in Brisbane and will carry a record number of Princess guests from the city on 14 roundtrip cruises to destinations including Tasmania, Papua New Guinea, and New Zealand.  

2025-2026 Australia highlighted sailings from Princess include:

  • More cruises to New Zealand than any other cruise line, with voyages on the three ships ranging from six to 15 nights. 
  • An 18-night cruise from Singapore to Sydney on Discovery Princess departing November 2025, with maiden visits to Ho Chi Minh City, Nha Trang, and Lombok. 
  • Round Australia cruises departing from Sydney, Melbourne, Fremantle, Adelaide, and Brisbane on Crown Princess in November 2025 and March 2026.
  • The return of Princess’ cruises to Hawaii and Tahiti, with Grand Princess setting sail on a 37-night cruise in October 2025.
  • A 12-night Southern Explorer cruise on Discovery Princess round trip from Sydney on February 28, 2026, visiting Melbourne, Kangaroo Island, Adelaide, Port Lincoln, Port Arthur, and Hobart. 
  • An 11-night voyage to Papua New Guinea on Grand Princess departing Brisbane on March 24, 2026, with visits to Alotau, Rabaul, Kiriwina Island, and the Conflict Islands.

All three ships based Down Under will feature the Princess’ exclusive MedallionClass experience. Bookings for these sailings open on November 29, 2023, for Princess Elite guests and November 30 for general sale.
