Carnival Cruise Line today announced two new themed zone areas for its upcoming ship Carnival Jubilee. The ship is next in Carnival’s Excel class of vessels and is slated to make its official debut this December in Galveston.

The newly announced zones for Carnival Jubilee are named ‘Currents’ and ‘The Shores’. These spaces will have a number of returning guest-favorite amenities and new exciting offerings.

Currents and The Shores bring the total of zones announced for Carnival Jubilee to six. The four previously-announced zones include Grand Central, Summer Landing, The Ultimate Playground (home to BOLT, Carnival’s third-ever roller coaster at sea), and Lido.

Currents

Located on Deck 6 and Deck 7 of Carnival Jubliee, Currents is an immersive and transformative space, that will offer new dining and lounge venues as well as live music. The look and feel of Currents will change from day to night throughout the cruise, using advanced new technology, to give the feel of an ‘underwater worlds’ space.

Currents will have six huge LED windows, a massive wave-shaped LED ceiling, theatrical show lighting, and sound design. This will create a variety of immersive environments for guests to enjoy as they sample the cocktails and dishes of the eateries located in the zone.

Highlights of Currents will include:

  • Inks, Ph.D – A fun bar is inspired by the octopus. Inks features a clever design of eight arms adorning the space. It will serve ocean-themed drinks such as color-changing cocktails, jellyfish, and layered shots, and menu items featuring sea foam, boba pearls, and unique garnishes.
  • The Golden Mermaid – This lounge is home to a mysterious golden mermaid who swims to the depths of the oceans to find long-lost treasures of ancient civilizations and uncovers secret cocktail recipes. Drinks served are inspired by precious gemstones and metals are made with edible glitter, as well as drinks presented in grand glassware.
  • Emeril’s Bistro 717 – This venue will serve creole cuisine, an expansive seafood selection, and an expanded raw bar. Emeril’s Bistro 717 will serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner, as guests enjoy their meals beneath LED windows and a ceiling array that creates an ‘underwater’ dining experience. The venue gets its name from Jubilee’s hull number at Meyer Werft in Germany.
  • Additional venues in Currents include returning guest favorites Alchemy Bar and Carnival Kitchen.

The Shores

On Deck 8, guests will find The Shores zone. This is “the place where the ocean meets land, a zone that’s inspired by the ways people enjoy the seaside including piers, boardwalks, and beaches.”

Guests can stroll along the boardwalk of The Shores alongside the colorful and playful designs, like a Ferris wheel-inspired ceiling. The zone will offer several casual eateries with indoor and outdoor seating areas. Highlights include:

  • Casual Eateries - Guests can enjoy a fresh hot pizza at Coastal Slice or try a tasty sandwich or hot dog at Beach Buns.
  • Marina Bar - This nautical-designed will serve coffee and cocktails in a comfortable lounge setting.
  • Rudi’s Seagrill and Cucina del Capitano return at The Shores zone with indoor and al fresco seating.
