Naples, Italy

Our excursion was a tour of Pompeii and a drive along the Amalfi Coast. First of all, our tour guide has been doing Pompeii tours for 20+ years, his insight and "bonuses" were amazing. We drove along the coast, then toured by sea once we reached Amalfi. Both land and sea of the Amalfi Coast left me speechless. Crystal clear waters and beautiful countryside were at every turn. OMG! The lemons were amazing. I've never seen anything quite like them. Which I'm guessing that is why the Limoncello tasted so wonderful.

Rhodes, Greece

This turned out to be a far better stop than expected. Best shopping and super friendly people, even having a good laugh with my traveling companions and myself. Definitely not the iconic Greece I imagined, but incredible in its own right. The walled city has lots of intrigue for the history buff.

Santorini, Greece

Prior to arriving, I was warned to avoid the donkeys. If traveling in to Santorini, use the gondola. Our excursion was a boat ride to the other side of the port and hiked Nea Kameni, an "active" volcano. Followed by a dip in the hot springs. Hot Springs, while beautiful, are not recommended unless you are a strong swimmer. You literally dive from the boat anchored in the Bay and swim to the springs through currents and ebbing tides. The scenery in all directions is breathtaking.

Piraeus (Athens), Greece

Hop On Hop Off is best option for Athens. Disappointed in all the graffiti, which I understand has become a problem since Olympics were held here. Acropolis is pricey, but has spectacular views.

Mykonos, Greece

By far, my favorite Greek island. We found it more fun to skip the excusions and explore on our own. The people were super friendly and helpful. I'd like to go back and spend time in this little town.
