Norwegian Pearl

Norwegian Pearl

Sail date: November 28, 2010

It was OK for the price

Not many entertainments activities to do that were free. Many things had charges or fees including bowling, and Wii. They put a hold of $300. on the credit card or debit card you have to put at the port registration. The gratuities are discounted everyday regardless of the service received. The service in the buffet restaurant is not so good. Also, 3 out of 7 days our dinner at the main dinner took to long to arrive. Some of the waiters were friendly and took details with us, instead of just asking for our order. But overall, the waiters in the main dinner did not do any activities or shows for any guest. Dinner time was boring.

Cruise tips

Samana, Dominican Republic

We did not do excursion, decided to walk the port area and artisan stands. but there was a lot of kids on the street begging me to buy them sea shell, some of them were even intimidating.

Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas

We visited Coral Reef Park. On the way to the Park we got to see the Island view from the mountain. Even though the park is small its beach view is "breathtaking." We also had enough time to swim on the beach which is right there a few steps away. Very nice beach!

Tortola, British Virgin Islands

We made the Tortola Highlights tour. It was very good. Our tour driver was very knowledgeable of the places and their traditions. When we got to the beach they provided us with a fruit drink, also for whoever wanted to try their native liquor had some for free.

Great Stirrup Cay (Cruise Line Private Island), Bahamas

This is the cruise line private getaway. The place was still under construction when I went. The Island is divided between each cruise line beach area; We saw the Royal Caribbean cruise beach area from far. The ambiance was great. The cruise members provided us with a barbecue and food served by them as well as drinks. There is no necessity to pay for any additional service other than specialty drinks. The people from other nearby islands have stands with shirts and other souvenirs to sell cheaper than in the ship, so take cash because you will need it.
