PV has always been my port of choice. This time however, Mazatlan had it beat hands down. Carlos O'Brians is my favorite bar, music gets loud and when they play "Tequilla" they jump on top of the tables and start dancing. We started off by going to Hooters where we wanted to drink shots and hang upside down but the pulley was broken and you could not do it on this trip. That was a little disappointing since we skpped it this time in Cabo. Hooters was quiet and I expected that. Leaving there we went back to Carlos O'Brians and sat there drinking for several hours. I bought a deck of cards and we sat there drinking and playing cards. After a 1/2 hour or so, one of the bar girls joined us and we played blackjack. Then a second bar girl joined us and we played dominoes, which turned out to be a lot of fun. We finally left Carlos O'Brians and ended up at "Bubba Gumps" where we ate. The place had recently opened. It was clean, fun and the food was Excellent.
Mazatlan has always been my "2nd" favorite port on this route. But this time, Mazatlan was the BEST. I don't do tours when I go on a cruise, I only do bars!! We got to Senor Frogs about noon and it was quiet then. I told my friend to wait until 2:00pm, everyone goes shopping in the "gold zone" and then ends up here having lunch and drinking until it is time to head back to the ship. By 2:30pm there was a line out the door and they were not letting anyone else in. The music is loud, a canon was shooting confetti into the air and the strobe lights were going. The entire bar area was filled and everyone was dancing. They have a stage platform and that was packed with people dancing!!! Even the resturant side was filled and everyone was dancing in there.....It was "Incredible"
I have yet to visit Cabo when things where really happening. We stopped at the Hard Rock and had a drink there - very clean, but also very quiet. We got to the Hard Rock about 11:00am by the time we got off the ship. Knowing it was still very early in the day, I knew not to expect much. We stopped by Squid Roe across the street after that and it was also very quiet. We went on down to the Giggigiling Marlin and there were a few people there. We were gonna stay for a couple of "shots" and take a few pictures hanging upside down, but decided to wait until we got to Hooters in Puerto Vallarta. We finally ended up at Cabo Wabo.....had the worst margarita ever. Normally this is the only bar I go to in Cabo and it was as I expected - pretty quiet. They had a lot of people there having lunch but it never got "wild". It was still a little early in the day.
