My trip was totally awesome. The only thing negative was the lack of wildlife that I was able to see. No one can control when the animals want to show up. The excursions that I selected made the trip a breath taking experience.
Cruise tips
The seaplane ride was unreal. It was a clear day and we were able to fly high and could see forever. We were able to close to the mountains because of the weather. One of the highlights of Ketchikan was catching a 20 lb. salmon.
Make sure you are on are deck when viewing the Glacier so you can see and hear any calving.
The gold panning was fun experience. It was amazing that the gold stays in the pan even if you hold the pan upside down. The helicopter ride to the glacier and being able to walk on the glacier was one of the highlights of the trip. It was an unreal experience. Totally worth the time and dollars to do.
The City Tour of Anchorage is very worth the $20 and one hour of time.
