Review summary

Royal Caribbean have outdone themselves. They deliver a top class ship with top class staff. Thank you for a wonderful cruise.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
No hiccups, a 45-50 minute queue to get to the check in counter, but once there, it was all smooth sailing.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
The main dining room is so elegant & big - 3 floors high. The food is amazing and the service can't be beaten anywhere. We ate there every night and most breakfasts.

Cafe Promenade

5 out of 5

This café was always busy. The pulled beef "sandwich" (comes on a bread roll) is amazing. So tender and hot - delicious. Their coffees were the best on the ship too.

Pub

5 out of 5

This pub was amazing. The bar staff are excellent people who are very efficient in their jobs. It's certainly our favourite place to have drinks.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
We played Putt Putt a few times, and it was really good - difficult though. We saw lots of people using the rock climbing wall and also the wave rider.

Dunes Mini Golf

5 out of 5

This was a fun place to go. It's not an easy course either.

Swimming Pools

5 out of 5

The adult only pool was excellent. We didn't use the main pools as we don't have young children.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
The stage shows were pretty good and Danny McMaster - the impressionist - was excellent. He was hilarious. The other entertainers were ok, but just not that funny. The shows that the crew put on such as the Australian/British rock night were very good. They were held on the Promenade on a walkway above it. Everyone could see what was happening.

Studio B

5 out of 5

This is a fantastic venue and to have an ice skating rink onboard a cruise ship is amazing. The ice shows were brilliant and well choreographed.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
We cannot fault the crew on this ship. Everyone excelled at their job from cleaners up. They all greeted us with a huge smile whenever we passed one of them. Our waiter and cabin steward were always happy to see us and they both did an amazing job. Made our cabin attendant always left our cabin spick and span - nothing where it shouldn't be. Menche greeted us every time we sat at our table and made us feel so welcome. He was quick to recommend meals and even quicker to deliver them.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
The ship's common areas were always clean. We never saw rubbish anywhere. Sometimes there were cups that passengers had left on the stairs, but they weren't there for long.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Our cabin was much larger than the one we had on a P&O ship. This cabin has a lounge in it and loads of storage space. Our bags were stored under the bed meaning that the entire wardrobe was for our clothes etc.

Ship tip

Take small Aussie bank notes to use on the islands in the South Pacific. They all are happy to receive $5 and $10 aussie notes - not coins. You only need US$ for onboard the ship. Everything bought on the ship goes on your Sea Pass and you either settle that account with US$ or your credit card.

Love Sydney - but then it is my home town.

Mystery Island, Vanuatu

No excursion needed here - you can snorkel right off the beach.

Port Vila, Efate, Vanuatu

We booked the Zego Waverider tour through Royal Caribbean. This was a fantastic excursion.

Suva, Fiji

We booked our excursion through Sailada Tours. Mokani Village is a delightful village with wonderfully friendly people. We drank kava here and they even put on a meal for us all. We highly recommend coming to this village. Bring some AU$ to leave as a donation.

Lautoka, Fiji Islands

We booked our excursion through "Shore Excursions" to Tifajek Mud Pools. We had an amazing time and our skin felt so soft after we had finished here. Would definitely do this again.

Noumea, New Caledonia

We had a thrilling ride out to Signal and Laregnere Islands on a water taxi. The four of us at the front had a bumpy ride and the four at the back a wet ride. We laughed the whole way there and back. The highlight of the trip was snorkelling. We saw and swam with turtles. What an amazing experience. We couldn't believe that we saw 2 at Signal and 1 at Laregnere Islands and swam with all of them. Thankyou to Dal'Ocean water taxis for giving us the experience of a lifetime.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
The quickest and easiest disembarkation ever. It took all of 10 minutes.
