Embarkation

Smooth and quick

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Main dining rooms are varied enough. Buffet also, the only downside with the buffet was that because of the cold weather everyone was inside. So there was not enough seating in the buffet area. However, we could take the food and sit in the specialty restaurants that were closed at that time. So it was a non issue. Pancakes too sweet, soups too salty. Sushi bar, amazing. Bistro could be better.

Onboard Activities

1 out of 5
Did not do any activities although there was plenty of choices. Did massage at Mandala Spa, sadly worst massage ever.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
Average.

Children's Programs

Dont have kids

Service and Staff

3 out of 5
Service is polite. However, staff from the Caribbean and the phillipines are more friendly and warm, on the contrary to the Indian staff.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
Very clean and well maintained. However, since it is an old ship, too much motion if you don't get seasick it is not a problem. But if you are sensitive to motion it will be likely that you get motion sickness. My partner went on a trip on Costa Favolosa. Ship sailed smoothly you don't even notice you're in a ship. But on Norwegian sun there is just too much vibration, even on the bed.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Very ample and comfortable, bigger than Costa. Lots of storage space. Well maintained and clean. LOTS of noise of chairs being pulled, coming from the sports bar on top that remained open till 5am. Would NOT recommend this room. We slept very bad due to this. Also several family members (we had 8 rooms in total) complained of the softness of the bed, and hip problems, even the young ones (under 30 years)

Ship tip

Free style dining gives you lots of flexibility. Plenty if rooms and bars were you can enjoy your free bar. Doesnt feel crowded at all, with exception of the buffet area when its cold and everyone stays inside. When everyone is at the pool its ok. Shows are not impressive.

Ports of call

San Antonio, Chile

3 out of 5
Industrial, didn't book any excursion.

Puerto Montt, Chile

5 out of 5
Did a private excursion with GV tours. Excellent and attentive service. Would definitely recommend them. The tour itself was very scenic and beautiful. We went to Frutillar and Puerto Varas. BEAUTIFUL.

Puerto Chacabuco, Chile

4 out of 5
We booked a private tour for our family with Chacabucotours. It was a scenic photography tour without guide. But the chauffeur didn't stop at all the stops, and we didn't have the opportunity of to get out at all of the scenic stops mentioned, so we couldn't take pictures of all the stops. Also, when we went on the bus it turned out they had 9 more people on the bus. That was not the agreement we had. Would not recommend them. Chacabuco is beautiful, beautiful nature.

Punta Arenas, Chile

It was rainy. Just took a cab to plaza de armas. Would recommend a city tour instead.

Ushuaia, Tierra Del Fuego, Argentina

5 out of 5
We booked a tour with Tierra del Fuego Aventura EVyT. Ruth was very friendly handling the private tour. So was Frederico our guide and Daniel our driver. We did the Train and Tierra de Fuego Park. Nice relaxing nature and lakes. Would definitely recommend. We liked the port itself too.

Port Stanley, Falkland Islands

5 out of 5
Did an excursion to Bertha's beach and gypsy cove. Saw Gentoo and Magellan penguins. Very nice.

Puerto Madryn, Argentina

4 out of 5
There's not much at the port itself. Did the punta tombo tour with a tour operator that was outside the ship when we docked. It was amazing to see 500.000+ Magellan pinguins in their habitat. The tour itself was so so, but the penguin rookery is worth the trip.

Montevideo, Uruguay

5 out of 5
Arranged a private tour with an operator outside. Maria Rosa was very informative. Liked her as our guide and loved Montevideo.

Buenos Aires, Argentina

3 out of 5
It is OK. We stayed for 5 days. The people there is not that friendly. The city is also dirty, urine and sewage smell everywhere. Nice architecture though. Wouldn't return to Buenos Aires. But would like to explore more cities of Chile and Argentina.

Disembarkation

4 out of 5
Disembarkation was smooth also. Not as fast as embarkation in San Antonio, but cant complain.
