Review summary
The Norwegian Spirit is a quietly elegant ship with an interesting Oriental motif and is well-maintained. The cabin was a bit smaller than other NCL ships we have enjoyed. It had limited drawer space, but a decent closet. We particularly liked the glassed in shower and separate toilet area, but would have preferred the hair dryer separate from the bathroom as on other Norwegian vessels. The dryer wand got so hot we could hardly handle it. The only big issue for us was a plumbing problem that caused a sewer gas smell in our bathroom and affected the flushing mechanism on the toilet. The smell was addressed in a timely manner and eventually resolved, but the toilet flusher caused us fits for the entire trip no matter what the crew did to try and resolve the problem. But for the price we paid we felt we got excellent value for our money and would recommend NCL as a good choice in cruising.
