Review summary

I am happy with my cruise experience. It was nice to be away from busy stressful routine and be pampered for a week. Sometimes this matters more than visiting or seeing. I just loved the friendly smily staff and all the entertainment and effort they put forth to make us feel at home and we truly called it a welcome home when coming back from walking all day in the cold.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Excellent, except i expected russian cuisine at the Tsar restaurant and it was average quality food

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Fitness center was great and the shows were great and the deck options were great but it was too cold to play outside. Should have done this cruise in June

Entertainment

4 out of 5
The shows were really great. The magician not so much but everything else were superb. I wish they had used Stardust theatre to show movies and have pop corn available in the afternoon

Service and Staff

Ship Quality

Very nice ship

Cabin / Stateroom

It was really flawless. Next time though I will choose a more centered one. I felt a lot of movement and I think it was because it was located toward the front of the ship. I may be wrong though. But I was able to sleep without any trouble and the hot shower and water pressure were a delight after being out in the cold. Very thankful for that.

Ship tip

To visit Alaska go a bit earlier in the season as in June not August

Ports of call

Seattle, Washington Did not visit port

I had already visited Seattle in another occassion

Ketchikan, Alaska

This was very nice. But next time I won't book any excursions until i get to the port of call. Booking directly with the locals is a better option. Our tour guide was a 7 out of 10. There was a different tour that would have taken us closer to the bears.

Juneau, Alaska

The stop at Jeneau was too short. The tour guide was excellent, she did a very good job. The Mendelhall glacier was nice to see but again didn't have time to walk around much. Same shops as in Ketchikan, so got mostof my shopping done at the first port of call. Juneau didn't have a great appeal to me, it was pretty deserted

Skagway, Alaska

It was too cold and windy. A cloud set on the town and we had no visibility whatsoever in our excursion, which should have been cancelled. Again, had i not booked this excursion, I would have taken the train which was a much better attraction/option. It's a pretty town, very quaint and interesting history

Victoria, British Columbia

Very pretty town, but too windy. Again excursion was a fiasco, the worst of them all. There should have been a booth outside the ship waiting for passengers and to give them information in hand. We had to wait for 1 hour for the bus, a wasted hour where we could have walked to the fisherman's ward and then wait for the bus there, but information was not clear

Disembarkation

3 out of 5
Well, i realize that waiting for the port computer system was not the ship's fault but once we were cleared to disembark they should have had more exits given the amount of people on the ship. I had to walk around in circle in a line 3 times before getting off. It took too long. The luggage option was nice
