Review summary

We enjoyed this ship, it is smaller than the Epic which we took on our last cruise and there were no lines at dinner, always plenty of seating in the theater and at the bars/clubs and on deck.  It was also very easy getting on and off the ship with no congestion or lines.  The weather was perfect the entire trip which obviously contributed to the wonderful experience.  The scenery in Glacier Bay is breathtaking.  We saw whales and mountain goats from the ship.  The ports were nice with plenty to do and easy access from the ship.  The food was pretty good and the service was excellent.  The entertainment on board was good and it was even nice enough to use the pools and hot tubs.  Excellent trip.

roomy enough but this particular cabin has a more enclosed deck so would opt for more mid ship next time.

Ship tip

Seating at the Tsar restaurant was always available and they were able to give us a window table almost every time so views were lovely during the meals.

We spent 3 days here before the cruise, so when we got back and had another entire day before our plane we really had nothing more to do.

Ketchikan, Alaska

cute town all easy walking - we took the Aleutian Ballard tour (deadliest catch ship) and it was fantastic!

Not a very pretty town but whale watching and trip to glacier was fun.

Took the train ride up the mountain and it was fun with lovely views.

Gorgeous scenery and easy to see from the ship. Being a small ship helped because you didn't need to fight for space on the deck.

Icy Strait Point (Hoonah), Alaska

Cute little town. Not too much to do, but taking the shuttle into the town was fun and we went to a place where they were making totem poles and the gentleman gave us a free tour/history lesson. That was really interesting.

Absolutely lovely city, fairly walkable. The hop on hop off bus was a bit of a disappointment because the trip took an hour and it stopped running at 6 (we got to the city around 1) and only got back to each stop once per hour. So, there was no time to really hop on or off. Once you took the loop that was it. The added water taxi, which we took, was a total waste of money.
