Review summary

Don't waste your money on this ship. The food (other than the specialty restaurants was terrible, imagination behind the activities was lacking, and the entertainment was mediocre at best. Probably the worst cruise we've ever been on.

Embarkation

4 out of 5
Embarkation was quick and efficient. From luggage drop off to check in to boarding took less than 30 minutes

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

1 out of 5
The food in the main dining rooms and buffet was at times inedible. Chicken that was well overcooked, fish that was like cardboard, and bacon that was completely raw. The variety of food choices in the main dining room and buffet was non-existent ... basically the same each day with some minor tweaks to the sauces used. Specialty dining (Cagney's, Le Bistro) was very good. Seems like NCL is trying to steer passengers toward the up-charged restaurants if you want a decent meal.

Onboard Activities

2 out of 5
As with most ships, the pool areas are too small for the number of passenger on the ship. The adult only Spice H2O area was nice, although again, too small for the number of passengers so getting a lounger or chair was difficult. We did not use the fitness center, ropes course, basketball courts.

Entertainment

1 out of 5
There was only 1 main show, Million Dollar Quartet, which was excellent. The other show advertised, Burn the Floor, had stopped playing the week before this cruise. The standard comedian, magician, musicians were terrible. Really liked Howl at the Moon on a previous cruise and was looking forward to that on this one, however the performers were average at best ... very disappointing.

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
Service was very good ... our room steward was excellent, there when you needed him, but invisible when you didn't. Room was made up when we were out doing other things and never bothered us while we were in the room. Waiters were good also.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
Interior looking a bit dated. Definitely needs a refresh.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Had an issue with small paint chips on our balcony (it looked like it had snowed) due to weather and cleaning, but as soon as we told the room steward, it was cleaned immediately.
