Review summary

Fun and Beautiful cruise! While we had some concerns over the food and the quality (or non-exsistance) of the Wifi over all it was a great trip! I do wish we could have had more time on the island, but the activites on the ship were fun and kept us busy, with lots of space to chill and relax as well.

Embarkation

They kept updating the time for us to board on the app, it ended up being 2 hours later than we first signed up for. Then once we got on the boat the directions of where to go were confusing and we had to go to multiple floors to find where to check in. At that point we then had to wait another 2 hours before we were let into the rooms. Luggage was delivered within 20 min of getting in the room, so that was good. But it was very confusing and crowded in the lounge waiting, and there was limited food options avalible until dinner time.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
Buffet was over crowded, not enough seating, and too limited time ranges. I am used to cruises 20 years ago with a 24 hr buffet, so having large time periods with no food options other than the Irish Pub was a little disapointing. I was traveling with a friend who is a type 1 diabetic and getting food at off hour times was difficult. Like at a hotel you can ususally get chips or cookies from the lobby and there wasn't really anything like that on ship. Also with the fact people party / are up late for activities having breakfast options closing at 9:30/10 was very unsatisfactory. Again we ended up at the pub with ran to 11 am before switching to lunch. Main Dining rooms were good, great service. They did run out of bread on the last night so we didn't recive any with our meal, but other than that they were good. We went to two speccialty restraunts and had very different experances. Le Bistro, the French restraunt, was amazing. The staff was super attentive, knowledgeable of the wine list, very polite and helpful in choosing dishes. The food was a 10 star. Teppanyaki - The chef was a lot of fun, very entertaining. Most of the food was good, but the scollups tasted fishy/old. I also was served a desert with fruit that I had informed the server I was allergic to at the start of the meal. The server was very poor. They never refilled my water, never asked if I wanted a second drink / cocktail with the meal, and made a show of trying to "squeeze" behind me going past when the guest next to me had their chair pulled out further. My friend and I were both very insulted. We had chosen the place for my Birthday dinner and it kind of spoiled the night.

Onboard Activities

We went to Karaoke a few times, but my friend only was able to get up twice. The time period was not long enough, and often there were a lot of teens / kids taking up the time that adults wanted to sing. I didn't even get a turn as there was not time. I wish the timing was better / kids had a sperate time period / it ran a lot longer. The gallery showing and info session on Thomas Kinkade was very informative and a lot of fun. Unfortunatly we didn't get to do a lot of activites because they were running at the same time as other activities we wanted to participate in / at the same times as the limited meal times.

Entertainment

Not enough room at the shows, we wanted to go to one and were not able to get in as there was not enough regular seating, even though the section roped off for the "Haven" / sweet guests was empty. The piano player /singer (Davi) was not very good, I feel bad becuase I know the staff works hard on the trip, but I heard from other guests too that they had the same feeling. We often would avoid going to the atrium or the Irish Pub restraunt if we knew he was singing there. The trumpet player was good, but the seclection of music was odd... I mean who plays Memory from Cats on a Trumpet? The pool band was very good.

Children's Programs

We were not traveling with children.

Service and Staff

Room Sterward was amazing! She took really good care of us and the room was spotless every day! The DJ running Kareoke was a lot of fun and even agreed that the time slot was too short. The Female waiter at Teppanyaki was very rude and insulting and ruined the dinner for me and my guest. Room Service had to be called multiple times to pick up trays, and some times never showed up so the room steward had to take them even though that's not her job.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Super clean ship. After the first day it was very easy to find the way arround the ship. Things were laid out very orderly.

Cabin / Stateroom

The bed was hard, and the blanket was very heavy. Other than that every thing was pretty good. Size was comparable to a Hotel, bathroom was a good size as well. The room was very clean when we arrived. Very quiet, other than normal people in hall sounds. And very dark with the light off wich was good for relaxing during the day time. The plugs were not close enough to the beds for using medical devices. I had to sleep backwards (feet at the head of the bed) to be able to use my CPAP machine.

Ship tip

Make reservations at the dining rooms in advance on the app, even the included ones, as wait times for dinner can be 30-60 min.

Super long lines to get on and off, and a little confusing.

Beautiful area, very clean. Mini train going to multiple towns was handy, as well as a very busy taxi stand to go to ther places. We took the 5 hour mini bus tour and it was amazing. The tour guide was a local who has been giving tours since they were a teen so was very informative and answered questions easily. The tour went to two major towns, the beach, and the light house. Lots of places to eat, shop, and just relax.

Disembarkation

Having to wait in the atrium for 3 hours after we were kicked out of the rooms where the was no food, drinks, and limited seating was very uncomfortable. Figuring out where to get an Uber to pick up when going home was a little confusing.
