Review summary

Sad that we missed Valleta due to high winds, I really wanted to see it. Otherwise all the stops we good to excellent. I would recommend the itinerary. We liked the ship and the service

Embarkation

5 out of 5
This was the fastest we've ever gotten on ship. Pretty much walked right up to Check-In, then waited maybe 20-30 minutes for our group call

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
The food quality was very good and so were the drinks - as well as the service staff. And unlike last cruise (on the Epic) there were hardly any waits for dining or bars

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
The fitness center was sufficient - didn't really see much of a staff (didn't need them) and one thing that was missing was an area to do stretching, cool down and abs work (a small area with mats would've been nice)

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Major show - Choir of Man was excellent. The band in Syd Normans Pour House was outstanding! (wish they could've played in a bigger venue). Other bands and soloists were pretty good. The Magician was very good and the juggling show was OK

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Room steward was excellent and responsive. The restaurant and bar staff was excellent

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
The Escape is so much better than the Epic. We never had to wait in line at all (and it was a pretty full ship)

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Cabin was comfortable, bathroom was roomy. Could've used a few more USB power outlets

Ship tip

H2O Spice area is a very nice area for relaxing in the sun, it was never real crowded - I think most people stayed around the mid-pool areas

Ports of call

Civitavecchia (Rome), Italy

5 out of 5
We stayed several nights in Rome pre-cruise. Must see!

Dubrovnik, Croatia

5 out of 5
Incredible history and Game of Thrones locations were a plus for me

Corfu, Greece

5 out of 5
We had a good time just strolling around Corfu, plenty to see

Valletta, Malta Did not visit port

High winds prevented us from docking - bummer!

Messina, Sicily

5 out of 5
Messina surprised us - really enjoyed this port more than expected. Plenty to see just walking around

NAPLES (POMPEII), ITALY

5 out of 5
Didn't see much of Naples, but we had a good independent tour of Sorrento, Amalfi Coast and Pompeii

Livorno (Florence & Pisa), Italy

5 out of 5
Didn't see much of Livorno, but we had a good independent tour of Lucca and Pisa, even with the rain

Cannes, France

4 out of 5
We enjoyed walking around Cannes for a few hours. Really intended to explore Nice but the trains were not running due to an accident

Ibiza, Balearic Islands

5 out of 5
Great weather, and interesting fortress, and nice place to explore

Palma De Mallorca, Balearic Islands

5 out of 5
We used the hop on/off bus to explore. Bellver Castle is a must see

Barcelona, Spain

5 out of 5
Stayed several days here post-cruise. Barcelona is a must see, we filled 3 days here

Disembarkation

2 out of 5
The luggage situation was confusing, our luggage showed up on 2 different carousel. Once we figured that out we ran into a taxi queue that was a mile long and took us 45 minutes to get a taxi into town
