Norwegian Epic

Sail date: April 07, 2024

Ship: Norwegian Epic

Traveled as: Singles/Friends

Review summary

Transatlantics are always interesting because you never know what to expect. Weather and seas were not ideal, but the staff made it comfortable. I love NCL and the Epic is worth a try.

Embarkation

3 out of 5
Got there early so went fairly smooth. Those arriving after noon had 1 to 2 hour wait. If I had to STAND (no seats) for that length of time, I would have had a melt down.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Ate at 3 specialty restaurants (Moderno, Cagneys, and the Italian one). Food and service were excellent. Chinese restaurant was also very good.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
Almost everything happened in the Atrium and provide many varied quizzes and games throughout the day.

Entertainment

2 out of 5
Very disappointing since Burn the Floor was the only main show. How many Deal or No Deals can you avoid. Also the new Wheel of Fortune game show was really complicated and provided no real prize payout unless you were one of 3 contestants.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Excellent staff in every regard. Could not have been better.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
I love the Epic. Have been on her at least 10 times. A few quirky things NCL tried to do with the ship but I'll definitely sail on her again.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Had a cove balcony cabin on deck 10. Very pleased with everything. Cabin 10016 had a very big balcony but only 2 tiny chairs.

Ship tip

If you don't mind a few differences here or there, I would recommend giving the Epic a try.It grows on you.

A beautiful and interesting city. Worth taking time to see.

Port Canaveral, Florida

Nice port close to Orlando.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
I did self carry and was off and through customs in Rome in 10 minutes.
