Review summary

My summary is basically, never again will I do NCL

Embarkation

3 out of 5
There has got to be a better process to getting on the ship. They have you go up the ramps from the FAR left (front of the ship) just to have to walk to the FAR right (back of the ship). Can't they just let you embark where you disembark at ports?

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
Never utilized the main dining room, only the buffet. The food was decent, like the variety, but the pizza, regardless of when I got it, was always cold.

Onboard Activities

1 out of 5
There is absolutely NO activities onboard. Where are the Trivia games, the comedy shows (more than just 2 a night), the karaoke, the game shows, the movies under the stars, games in general. This was by-far the most disappointing part of the cruise. Every Carnival cruise and Paradise cruise I take have these as a regular throughout the day. And why must you reserve for the 1 or 2 shows you do have on board, no one has time for that nonsense, it should basically be first come first served.

Entertainment

1 out of 5
Horrible. The cruise director (Clay) has ZERO personality.

Children's Programs

4 out of 5
My son LOVED his club (3-12). And I found each and everyone of those counselors amazing (specifically Mickey, LOVE HER!!) My daughters, on the other hand, made the best of their club (13-17). Only 4 kids signed up, even though there were a few others on board. They had to make their own activities but they said they had fun.

Service and Staff

2 out of 5
My room steward and the waiters were good. However, the other ship personal, sucked. We reserved and paid for a wheel chair accessible room. What we received was NOT wheel chair friendly AT ALL. And their only excuse was that they were booked to compacity. And I know that may have been the case, but it wasn't. When you overhear 3 young ladies complain that they hated their view and that the front desk showed them 3 other oceanview rooms and they didn't like them; or hear from another fellow passenger who had to switch out of a haven room to another haven room bc the sun came thru too bright; you tend to hate the cruiseline from that point forward. And ppl reading this would say maybe they weren't big enough... uh trust me that wasn't the case. Everyday the cruiseline left something in our room with an apology note saying "we're booked to compacity but we are trying to work out a solution, enjoy this treat on us." Now if you're booked to compacity what are you trying to work out?? Here's the kicker... the last day when I went to settle my onboard account, I showed my CLIA card and all of a sudden ppl were tripping over themselves but it's the last day what the hell can you do now. Definitely, definitely NEVER again and neither will my clients

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Clean and well maintained, yes.

Cabin / Stateroom

1 out of 5
The comfort was okay, but I feel as though the family oceanviews on Carnival and Royal are a bit more spacious. The room was clean to an extent. The fact that it wasn't wheel chair accessible made it horrible.

Ship tip

Not kid friendly, Not family friendly, Not disability friendly

Ports of call

Miami, Florida

2 out of 5

Coxen Hole, Roatan, Bay Islands, Honduras

5 out of 5
AMAZING!! I could've done this port every single day of the cruise. The Roatanians are the nicest, pushiest, but the nicest ppl. The sloths and monkeys and learning about the culture was hands down perfect

Harvest Caye, Belize

1 out of 5
Boring. Boring to a fault. Too expensive to venture out on you own and you're stuck on their private island.

Costa Maya (Mahahual), Mexico

5 out of 5
Aside from the fact that they make it almost impossible to find your way OUT of the port, once you do and you see the culture and you support the locals, it's worth it. Get yourself a golf cart from OUTSIDE of the port and explore. It's a small island so you can't get lost.

Cozumel, Mexico

2 out of 5
Too commercial for me.

Disembarkation

2 out of 5
As bad as the embarkation. When you make a rule, how about sticking to it. If you don't have luggage sit your tail down and wait.
