La Cucina on Norwegian Breakaway

Too much food. All amazing. My husband loved the pizza. Gorgonzola Salas - fantastic!

I was nervous about this restaurant but I was pleasantly surprised by how good it was.

Always love La Cucina (we dined there twice) and will be saddened when NCL converts them to the updated 'fusion' style Italian eatery.

We realized on our last day that we had a second specialty restaurant included with our package. We were able to get a last minute reservation for La Cucina and were thrilled. Service was good, but the restaurant was quite noisy and we both had a hard time hearing our rather quiet server. I had a Caesar salad and made the pasta carbonara my main entree. My husband had a salad, fettuccine Alfredo and a pizza. OMG the food was so good, but there was so much! We were disappointed that we could not have our leftovers delivered to our room - we had done this on our prior cruise, which was also Norwegian, but were told that it was some sort of law that they could not accommodate us unless we had a butler in the Haven? Anyway, we wasted a lot of food, but also got cannoli and tiramisu for dessert so we could have a couple bites. Everything was delicious, portions were quite generous.

Service and food was very good. Overall our meal was great other than one or two items was were very bland.

Our first 2 courses were amazing. But the main course was not good. My filet was suppose to be cooked medium and came out well done and the Blue Cheese ravioli were very dry, no sauce on them.

I'm not much of an Italian food eater, but we went anyway. They had a filet mignon that was the most delicious thing I ate on board that ship. My wife got the T-Bone steak that was an off-menu item, and it was delicious (I got to help her finish it). The Italian food part of the restaurant? I'd bet it's good, but I'll take steak most every time :)
