Review summary

The Haven is a great experience. The sundeck is quiet and has shady and sunny places to be. The Haven dining room's food was great and the staff was always happy.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Because we were staying in the Haven, we were escorted onto the ship as soon as we arrived. The check-in process was very easy.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
The Haven dining room was excellent for breakfast, lunch and dinner. We ate at Cagney's and were seated in the bar area. I would not recommend that; it was way too loud. The food at LeBistro and Ocean was very good. We ate in the main dining room one night. Very bad experience. It was pure chaos. Lots of food came out at one time and the servers seemed to have trouble knowing where the food was going. We saw a tray dropped off holding about 6 entrees and it sat there for about 15 min. No one seemed to know where it went. Our table of 4 had one entree wrong so he had to wait a while to get the right one delivered. We were questioning why were we even eating there instead of being in the Haven restaurant.

Onboard Activities

1 out of 5
If you were not staying the Haven the whole experience would be miserable. There should be more than one pool for that many people. It was a madhouse. There were so many pool chairs on that deck and they are all touching. So no personal space at all. We had an appointment for the go carts for 11:30. By the time we realized that we wouldn't even get on the track until 1:00 I bailed. I was told that the appt time was not the race time. I think that should be made clear when you make the reservation. I was happy that they did refund my fee.

Entertainment

I don't remember his name, but he plays piano and talks for about 3 hours. He's hysterical! Enjoyed his show very much.

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
The room steward was excellent. Our butler was attentive to our needs, but was very low key compared to our friend's butler (also in the Haven).

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Rooms were spotless. The ship felt very clean. I would like to see the hand sanitizers at the elevators.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
The room was a little smaller than I was expecting. We have stayed in a suite on the Jewel before and the bedroom area seemed bigger. The bedroom area on this ship was very small. There wasn't enough space between the end of the bed and the closets. We wished the tub would have been big enough for two.

Ship tip

Be prepared for crowds everywhere. If that's what you like it will be great. If you like it a little more low key, then you won't be happy.

Ports of call

Miami, Florida

3 out of 5
Went right from the taxi to the ship so no opinion of the port.

Tortola, British Virgin Islands

3 out of 5
No excursion. We got off for a little shopping, but didn't find anything interesting.

Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas

Same here. Shopping is pretty much the same everywhere in the Caribbean. No excursion

Nassau, Bahamas Did not visit port

Looked like the same shopping. In addition, it's great to stay on the ship when everyone is gone.

Disembarkation

We were escorted off. Very organized and great experience.
