Review summary

This is our first time to sail with Royal Caribbean and it did not disappoint.

Embarkation

4 out of 5
The Royal Caribbean port was a convenient location the port of Los Angeles. There was a long line to checkin luggages. The app should have given the tags to print at home to minimize the lines. Then there was a line to health and security check, but that was an important part of the embarkation process due to COVID. The whole process took an hour and I’m not sure if everyone was there at the appointed time assigned when we checked in on line. I guess I was expecting long lines, but the process could be more streamlined.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
The main dining room was bright and spacious where you can dine casually or elegantly. Once you know where your assigned table is, you can seat yourself every meal with no waiting. You get excellent service from the staff. Food was delicious but we like eating at the specialty restaurants for more variety and better food. We only had breakfast once at the buffet, and it’s ok.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
We like the Solarium as more quieter place to swim or use the hot tubs. Bingo was entertaining. The casino tournament was a blast.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
The musical and dance shows were very entertaining. The comedian was hilarious and the content of his jokes was mindful of the presence of children in the audience.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
The room stewards were excellent and kept our rooms clean and fresh all the time, like a private butler.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
The overall design of the ship was welcoming and classy.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
The bed was comfortable, it didn’t give me backache in the mornings.

Ship tip

Print your luggage tags at home for easy drop offs. Plan for specialty dining before your sailing to get the best deals. Same with excursions, they are fully refundable when you cancel. Have the ship take care of your luggage when you disembark.

Disembarkation

4 out of 5
Was glad that we disembarked the regular way, because people who carried their luggages had trouble or slowed down the process because there are stairs to drag them down or up. The luggages were easy to claim at the immigration.
