Review summary

I am a first-time cruiser and I am hooked. From the entertainment, food, activities around the ship, and the excursions, this is the perfect vacation get way to unplug. The professionalism of the staff made you feel so welcomed. And the performers were simply excellent. I will be back in November for another trip.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Despite the fact the lines were long due to COVID verifications, it still went fairly smoothly, and I was with a family of 5. I do recommend ensuring all your COVID documentation is in order and download the Royal Caribbean app so you can complete the safety briefings online.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
The main dining was eloquent and the servers new our first names before we even took a seat. This was first-class dining all around. However, alcoholic drinks are slightly on the expensive side with your meal (meal comes free). There are restaurants all around the ship, along with small eateries, snacks, etc. You will not have any issue finding something you want to eat on a daily basis.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
The pools did not appear overcrowded; however, one side heating system went down, which made that side of the pool very cold on the open ocean. There were not enough mats for the slides so you had to wait for someone to come down the slide to receive a mat. Due to the weather on the 3 day at sea, we did not get to enough the pool or outside activities as much.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
The is the best feature of the trip and I was taken back by the performers and all the shows offered. From ICE SKATING, to SHOWGIRLS, to 70s and 80s night DISCO dancing on DECK 5. I absolutely love this part of the cruise!!

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Everyone was joyful, smiling, and very kind. I have never seen customer service like this ever in my lifetime and I travel a lot.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Everything about the ship was in order, clean, and always looked well-maintained.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
A little on the small size for my taste, but the virtual feature that gave you a glimpse of what was going on outside was a unique feature in the room.

Ship tip

Pace yourself! There is lots to do and depending if you are traveling with a crowd, people can wear down quickly. Ensure you understand the entertainment layout, be an active participant, and relax. This is a place to get away and unplug and yet some people looked stressed. The experience can be overwhleming, so do your research before getting aboard.

Ports of call

San Pedro (Los Angeles), California

4 out of 5
The port was easy to locate, but it seemed that at least 4 different times we had to stop and show someone our boarding info. I believe there must be a way to streamline this process. Yes, we did an excursion to Rosarita Resort Beach Club Day Pass. DO NOT waste your money on this excursion. We were truly disappointed at the time spent on the beach and the facilities.

Ensenada, Mexico

5 out of 5
This port was laid out well and easy to navigate. Be prepared to be haggled if you walk downtown, but if you say no thanks, the local are polite and receptive.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Extremely easy.
