Review summary

I recently sailed on Freedom of the Seas and didn’t have a single complaint. Being that Liberty is a sister ship to Freedom I thought I would have the same general experience but I was very wrong. This cruise was rather disappointing in comparison. The food wasn’t up to standard. There was a general sense of disorganization and confusion amongst staff. The main dining room had the craziest lines and wait times (even with reservations). The ship looked dated and sometimes not very clean. Overall just disappointed with this one.

Embarkation

Embarkation was slower and rather unorganized compared to Port Miami

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
The food was not what I’ve come to expect from Royal. Usually everything is delicious, fresh and incredible. Not the case on this cruise. I’m not a big fan of buffets but even Sorrento’s was disappointing. The desserts in Café Promenade were even sad. It seemed like the food had been sitting out for a while and had gotten hard and/stale. The only enjoyable dining experiences we had were at Chops and Johnny Rocket.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
We did rock climbing, water slides, and miniature golf

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Entertainment was probably the only thing I’d give a 5 star rating for on this cruise. The music, performances and even game shows were all terrific

Children's Programs

Don’t have kids

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Jacqueline, our room steward was AMAZING!! she worked very hard and she was quick and thorough. There were times we would leave our cabin only to get Starbucks from Café Promenade and in 15 minutes we were gone, Jacqueline had the room spic & span.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
This ship is definitely dated and tired, she’s in need of some updating.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
The size of the cabin was good, the balcony was a great size. Loved how convenient the location was, right by the elevators and stairs. I never heard anything in the hall at night but my cousin that traveled with me said she could hear people laughing and doors slamming in the middle of the night
